    Abstract: Disclosed are a carpet for a vehicle and a method of manufacturing the same. A first material is scored to define a gap. A portion of the first material interior to the gap is compressed, and then folded out of the gap. A second material is adhered to the first material. The second material may be adhered to the compressed portion of the first material. The volume of the compressed portion may be decreased by about half. The first material may be a sound-absorbing material.
