Abstract: An apparatus to assist with door installation, transport, and removal comprising a telescoping frame, padded guides extending outwardly from the frame and defining a gap of the width of a door, friction-reducing members, a step plate, and brakes. In a vertical orientation, a door may be slid into the apparatus. The guides can incorporate a clamp and a strap used to secure the door to the frame and permit selective pivoting between the vertical orientation to a horizontal orientation. The horizontal orientation facilitates ergonomic sawing when hinges are being applied to a held door; afterwards, the apparatus can be moved to a door jamb and changed to vertical orientation for positioning so the unattached sides of the hinges abut the jamb. A method of using the apparatus is also disclosed.
