Abstract: Removing a gun or other weapon from a holster may inevitably require police backup to secure officer safety. One example device may include a weapon securing holster and a wireless presence detection antenna which receives wireless proximity data from a weapon drawn from the holster. Other features may include a sensor which detects a presence of the weapon and a processor which processes sensor data generated by the at least one sensor and radio frequency signals identifying a proximity of the weapon to the wireless presence detection antenna.
