  • Patent number: 6204228
Abstract: Extreme pressure lubricants, concentrates and greases. Disclosed herein are extreme pressure metal working lubricants which comprise a lubricant base material and a reaction product of (1) an amine containing from 1 to about 30 carbon atoms and (2) sulfamic acid or derivative thereof containing from 1 to about 30 carbon atoms. The reaction product or extreme pressure additive may be either water soluble or oil soluble. Amines containing from 1 to about 7 carbon atoms are generally used for making water soluble reaction products, and amines containing 8 or more (up to about 30) carbon atoms are generally used for making oil soluble reaction products. Water based lubricants comprise water and a water soluble reaction product. Oil based lubricants comprise an oil of lubricating viscosity and an oil soluble reaction product. Reaction products may be either addition products or sulfonamides.

  • Patent number: 5939366
Abstract: The invention pertains to chlorine-free extreme pressure metalworking fluid additives and lies in the recognition of the improved hydrolytic stability of alkanoic acid esters of cyclohexane dimethanol and other esters embodying similar structures. The various derivatives which are effective as extreme pressure additives include those which fall within the generic description ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 through R.sup.4 are independently selected from the group hydrogen and C.sub.1-24 hydrocarbyl groups and R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are independently selected from the group C.sub.3-24 hydrocarbyl groups.

  • Patent number: 5364895
Abstract: A class of hydrolytically stable bis(aralkylphenyl)pentaerythritol diphosphites is disclosed, which is suitable as an antioxidant additives in polyolefins, particularly, in polypropylene. The diphosphites are of low volatility, have a high thermal decomposition temperature and resist yellowing when blended into a polyolefin base. A preferred diphosphite is bis(2,4-dicumylphenyl)pentaerythritol diphosphite.
