The coating composition optionally contains non-reinforcing filler but contains no more than 3% by weight of reinforcing filler. The coating is preferably used on a textile fabric that has an elastomeric coating on it, and reduces friction. It is particularly useful for airbags.

The coated fabric may have among other benefits, a lower friction value and limiting oxygen index. Fabrics are specifically useful for inflatable safety restraints.

    Abstract: A catalyst composition for use in the preparation of an organopolysiloxane comprises a .gamma.-butyrolactone carrier and a phosphonitrile catalyst. Preferred phosphonitrile catalysts comprise Cl.sub.3 PNPCl.sub.2 NPCl.sub.3.PCl.sub.6, (Cl.sub.3 P.dbd.N--(PCl.sub.2 .dbd.N).sub.d --PCl.sub.3).sup.+ (SbCl.sub.6).sup.- wherein d is 1 to 4, and compounds of the formula Y(PX.sub.2 .dbd.N).sub.a PX.sub.2 O) wherein X is chlorine, hydroxyl or an organosilicon radical bonded to phosphorous via oxygen, and a is 1 to 5. Also disclosed is a method for producing an organopolysiloxane by polymerisation reaction in the presence of a said catalyst composition, and use of .gamma.-butyrolactone as a carrier for a phosphonitrile catalyst in the preparation of an organopolysiloxane.

    Abstract: A method for preparing an aminoalkoxysiloxane comprises reacting a siloxane having at least one Si--X bond with an aminoalcohol of the general formula HO--R--NR.sup.1.sub.2 and removing HX from the reaction mixture, wherein X is a hydrogen atom, an --OH group or an --OC(O)NR.sup.1.sub.2 group, R is a divalent substituted or unsubstituted alkylene or arylene group, and R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from one to eighteen carbon atoms. The siloxane and aminoalcohol are preferably HO(Me.sub.2 SiO).sub.4.5 H and ethanolamine, (Me.sub.3 SiO).sub.2 MeSiH and ethanolamine, isopropanolamine or 3-aminopropan-1-ol, or Me.sub.3 SiO(Me.sub.2 SiO).sub.3 (MeHSiO).sub.5 SiMe.sub.3 and isopropanolamine respectively. The aminoalkoxysiloxanes thus prepared are useful for treating textile fabrics.
