Abstract: Embodiments of a laminate structure for use in flexible packaging comprise a sealant film comprising ethylene-based polymer, and a multilayer polyethylene print film laminated to the sealant film. The print film comprises at least 3 layers and has an overall thickness from 15 to 30 ?m. The print film comprises a middle layer, an inner layer disposed between sealant film and the middle layer, and an outer layer, wherein the middle layer comprises at least 90% by weight high density polyethylene (HDPE) polymer having a density from 0.950 to 0.965 g/cc. The inner layer and the outer layer comprise linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) having a density from 0.925 to 0.965 g/cc. The laminate structure yields desired optical and mechanical properties coupled with recyclability and improved printing efficiency, while maintaining these low thicknesses for the print film.
Abstract: Use a solvent blend that contains 1-methoxy-2,7-octadiene and an alkanols rather than the alkanols by itself to prepare a catalyst precursor suitable for use in butadiene telomerization.

Abstract: Coated conductors comprising a conductor and elongated polymeric coatings at least partially surrounding the conductor, where the elongated polymeric coatings comprise a polymeric matrix material and a plurality of microcapillaries defining individual, discrete void spaces. Such coated conductors are lighter in weight relative to coated conductors having polymeric coatings without microcapillaries. Also disclosed are dies and methods for making such coated conductors.

Abstract: A method for processing a chemical stream includes contacting a feed stream with a catalyst in a reactor portion of a reactor system causing a reaction which forms a product stream. The method includes separating the product stream from the catalyst, passing the catalyst to a catalyst processing portion of the reactor system, processing the catalyst in the catalyst processing portion, and passing a portion of the catalyst from the catalyst processing portion of the reactor system into a catalyst withdrawal system that includes a catalyst withdrawal vessel and a transfer line coupling the catalyst withdrawal vessel to the catalyst processing portion. Each of the catalyst withdrawal vessel and the transfer line include an outer metallic shell and an inner refractory lining. The method further includes cooling the catalyst in the catalyst withdrawal vessel from greater than or equal to 680° C. to less than or equal to 350° C.
Abstract: Flooding compounds for telecommunications cables. Such flooding compounds contain a polyolefin elastomer and a hydrocarbon oil. The polyolefin elastomer has a crystallinity ranging from 10 less than 50 weight percent and a dynamic viscosity of 50,000 centipoise or less at 177° C. The hydrocarbon oil has a kinematic viscosity of 200 centistokes or less at 40° C.

The core layer comprises a polyethylene resin having a wt. % crystallinity of from 10% to 40% and a single melting peak as measured by differential scanning calorimetry.
