Abstract: Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems receive a plurality of user characteristics. The characteristics are transmitted to a server. A sleep profile selected by the server based upon the characteristics is received. The sleep profile includes an estimated sleep cycle having a plurality of stages representing aggregated sleep data from a plurality of persons. The sleep profile is selected in response to determining that the plurality of persons is associated with characteristics similar to the received user characteristics. A shift from a first stage in a current sleep cycle to a second stage in a current sleep cycle is detected. The detection of the shift is based upon a set of data from a sensor measuring physical indications of the user's sleep. An estimate of an additional portion of the current sleep cycle is generated by matching the detected shift to a corresponding shift between stages in the estimated sleep cycle.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for utilizing gestures to interact with a mobile device is described. In one embodiment, the system includes a mobile device including motion controls comprising a motion sensor and a processor including a motion navigation system. The motion navigation system comprises, in one embodiment a gesture library including a plurality of gesture commands available to the motion navigation system, and an intelligent signal interpretation engine (ISIE) to receive data from the motion sensor and identify a gesture based in data in the gesture library. The motion navigation system further comprises in one embodiment, an adjustment logic to determine whether the gesture is usable as a gesture command, based on current circumstances, and a translator to generate one or more commands to execute the action associated with the gesture.
Abstract: A telemedicine system to enable remote pre-diagnosis based on one or more messages from a user is described. The telemedicine system includes a user interface to enable a user to generate a telemedicine query requesting a preliminary diagnosis of a medical condition. The system targets the telemedicine query to an appropriate responder and stores the telemedicine query and any follow-up messages sent in response to the telemedicine query.
Abstract: An exemplary mechanical watch has a face including an indicator of current time and one or more indicators of physical activity of a wearer of the mechanical watch. The watch further includes a mainspring to store energy and transfer the energy to a balance wheel and gear train to measure the passage of time, a rotor to rotate about a pivot point in response to movements of a wrist of the wearer of the mechanical watch, a rotor gear coupled to the rotor, and an activity-tracking wheel coupled to one of the one or more indicators of physical activity. Movement of the rotor causes the rotor gear to translate the movement of the rotor into winding of the mainspring and into an indication of physical activity of a wearer of the mechanical watch by causing or controlling rotation of the activity-tracking wheel.
