    Abstract: In a cationic electrodeposition coating composition and a method of preparing the cationic electrodeposition coating composition, a cationic electrodeposition coating composition is prepared by dispersing a cationic electrodeposition resin in an aqueous medium containing about 0.5 to 3% by weight of zinc acetate. The cationic electrodeposition resin is prepared by reacting about 40 to about 60% by weight of a cationic resin prepared by an epoxy-amino addition reaction, about 2 to about 5% by weight of an acrylic cationic resin having an amino group, and about 30 to about 50% by weight of a polyisocyanate curing agent including partially blocked isocyanate functional groups. The cured film formed on the hard disc driver base frame by using the cationic electrodeposition coating composition contains no heavy metal such as lead or tin, has no appearance defect such as a pinhole and has excellent corrosion-resistance even when being cured at low temperature.

    Abstract: A condensation polymerization of apolyhydric alcohol and a polybasic acid in a solvent is performed to give a polyester resin. The polyester resin and an unsaturated polybasic acid are polymerized to give a polyester resin intermediate of following formula (1) having a carbon-carbon double bond at one end. The polyester resin intermediate is polymerized with an acryl monomer to give an acryl-modified polyester resin composition. Due to the polymerization of the polyester resin intermediate having the carbon-carbon double bond and the acryl monomer, a paint including the acryl-modified polyester resin composition has advantages of a polyester resin and the acryl resin, R—CH2—O—CO—CH?CH—X??(1) wherein R represents a polyester polymer residue, and X represents a methyl or carboxylic group.

    Abstract: A water soluble thermosetting polyester resin composition for undercoating a PCM steel sheet is prepared from about 100 parts by weight of thermosetting polyester resin obtained by condensing polyethylene terephthalate using glycol and polybasic acid, about 5-20 parts by weight of anhydrous polybasic acid and amine. A paint composition prepared using thus prepared resin composition is applicable for undercoating PCM steel sheet for both of home appliances and construction materials. In addition, an organic solvent included in the conventional oily paint composition can be excluded to minimize an environmental contamination, a dangerous factor of initiating fire and a bodily harm on human. Further, a paint composition having advantageous processibility, chemical resistance, solvent resistance, adhesion and scratch resistance may be prepared.

    Abstract: In a uniformly copolymerized one-part polyurethane resin composition with improved processing behaviors and chemical resistance, the one-part polyurethane resin composition comprises about 20 to 50% by weight of a hard segment and about 50 to 80% by weight of a soft segment. The hard segment reduces drying time and recoating time of a film coated by the composition, and the soft segment improves processing behaviors of the film including rolling and spraying properties. The one-part polyurethane resin composition may further comprise a catalyst. The catalyst may regulate film drying time and improve gloss of a coated film. Thus, the resin composition may be applied in various fields.
