  • Patent number: 7397042
Abstract: An optical detection apparatus and method thereof is provided, which is applicable for detecting the image signals of a labeled sample. First, a laser module provides excitation light, and the excitation light is continuously reflected by a scan module for providing linear scanning light by changing a reflection angle. The carrier moves the light module in a direction nonparallel to the linear direction so as to provide a two-dimensional testing zone. The labeled sample placed in the testing zone is excited by the linear scanning light and generates emission light to be received by the light receiver. Therefore, the light receiver forms the image signals of the labeled sample corresponding to the emission light.

  • Patent number: 7358078
Abstract: An auto microfluidic hybridization chip platform is disclosed to provide a hybrid reaction test system with the features of fast reactions, automatic operations, and a convenient platform. The platform includes a flow control system with a platform base, a microfluidic hybridization chip, a microfluidic hybridization chip support, a test agent support of the microfluidic hybridization chip; and a signal detection system. Using a microfluidic pipeline to connect various parts does not only realize automation and a small volume, but also increases the reaction speed.

  • Patent number: 7262858
Abstract: An apparatus accesses and processes reflection images detected from microarray biochips with sidewalls. The apparatus uses a movable system to carry an optical module and a microtiter plate to achieve relative movement in different directions, so that pattern images of all wells in the microtiter plate can be retrieved during a single scanning process. Scanned image data are further compared with pre-defined patterns by a computer program for analysis.

  • Patent number: 7066190
Abstract: An air-driven microfluid control device and its method are disclosed. The control device contains an air source, a first inlet, a second inlet, a narrow sector, and an outlet. The air source is connected two the two inlets to produce an airflow. The first inlet connects to the narrow sector, which then connects to the outlet. The air flows through the first inlet and the narrow sector and exits via the outlet. A fluid tunnel connects to the narrows sideways. The second inlet connects to the fluid tunnel so that the air entering the second inlet flows into the fluid tunnel. Through the interaction between the two inlets, pushing and pulling forces can be produced to control the fluid inside the fluid tunnel.

  • Patent number: 6818397
Abstract: The present invention discloses pairs of oligonucleotide primers for use in detecting the presence or absence of an enterovirus in a sample. Also disclosed are synthetic nucleotide sequences capable of specifically hybridizing to a sense strand of an enterovirus nucleic acid or a nucleic acid corresponding to the sense strand. The present invention provides a method of detecting the presence or absence of an enterovirus nucleic acid in a sample as well as a kit for detecting an enterovirus in a sample. The present invention particularly provides a method and a kit for detecting and differentiating enterovirus type 71 and/or coxsackievirus A16 in a sample.
