  • Patent number: 5832616
Abstract: A length measuring device and method for mounting the same is provided. A tube-shaped housing, which is sealed by mounting blocks attached at each end is fastened on an object by the mounting blocks. The mounting blocks have inserting elements with protrusions which interlockingly engage cutouts formed in the housing and, in this way, fix the housing in place in the measuring direction (X) with respect to the mounting blocks (5). The mounting blocks fasten the housing on an object in such a way that the housing undergoes the same thermal expansion and shrinkage as the object to which it is mounted.
