Abstract: The present disclosure provides compounds and compositions which may be used to augment, supplement and/or replace the products of certain UV sensitive/dependent processes. In particular, the disclosure provides sunscreen compositions which avoid problems associated with prior art sunscreen compositions which inhibit the natural progression of certain in vivo sunlight/UV dependent processes including processes which result in Nitric Oxide/Vitamin D production in the skin.
Abstract: A measurement arrangement, including a current line, a first measurement location provided on the current line, a second measurement location provided on the current line, and a coolant, wherein the second measurement location is provided at a distance from the first measurement location in order to make it possible to measure a voltage in a measurement section of the current line arising due to a current flowing through the current line, wherein the measurement section is defined between the first measurement location and the second measurement location, and wherein the coolant is of fluid form and at least in areas is in direct contact with the current line in an area between the first measurement location and the second measurement location.

Abstract: Method for manufacturing a musical instrument string includes positioning an elongate wrap wire in a position to be wound about an elongate core wire having a round cross-sectional shape, the core wire including a core, a coating surrounding the core and a cylindrical outer surface. Winding of the wrap wire about the core wire is performed under winding conditions to cause the wrap wire to form a helical impression in the coating in which the wrap wire is situated. Material of the coating is selected to enable the coating to flow and form the impression and move upward into spaces between adjacent wrap wire windings. The winding conditions include tension on the core wire, tension on the wrap wire, winding speed and a temperature to which the core wire and/or wrap wire are heated. Glue or another adhesive is not used to bond the wrap wire and the core wire.
Abstract: An optical position-measuring device for determining a relative position of scales includes a light source, the scales and a detector. The scales are movable relative to each other along measurement directions and disposed in different planes in crossed relation to each other, and each have a graduation having grating regions which are arranged periodically and have different optical properties. At the first scale, the illumination beam is split into sub-beams, the sub-beams subsequently impinge on the second scale and are reflected back toward the first scale, and the reflected-back sub-beams strike the first scale again, where they are recombined, so that a resulting signal beam subsequently propagates toward the detector. The measuring graduation of one or more of the scales is configured as a two-dimensional cross grating which has a filtering effect that suppresses disturbing higher diffraction orders.
Abstract: An electric machine for a vehicle includes: a stator body, the stator body having, in an alternating manner, stator teeth and stator grooves with conductor elements which are arranged therein, and a yoke section with a radially extending yoke height on the stator body radially outside the stator grooves and the stator teeth, the stator body having a stator outer radius. A ratio of the yoke height in relation to the stator outer radius is between 0.20 and 0.28.
