  • Patent number: 4241496
Abstract: A hand held termination tool which is used in conjunction with a termination blade for connecting conductor wires to terminals on a termination block has a handle within which is disposed a hammer assembly. A slide assembly is mounted in the handle yieldably urged to a position extending from one end thereof and disposed to receive an impact blow from the hammer assembly when forced inwardly from the extended position a predetermined distance. The hammer assembly includes a drive spring providing the force for the impact. A drive spring seat member supports one end of the drive spring and is movable between an extended and a retracted position, thereby providing a short compressed drive spring length in the extended position and a longer compressed drive spring length in the retracted position. A cam adjustable to either one of two positions selects either the short or longer compressed lengths for the drive spring and thereby a high or a low impact force respectively.

  • Patent number: 4161061
Abstract: A reversible termination tool blade is removably interlocked in a slide by means of a spring loaded cam follower on the slide and a cam surface on the reversible termination blade. The blade is inserted in the slide with a rectilinear motion aligning the cam follower with the cam. A rotary motion of the blade in the slide causes the cam to pass the cam follower, capturing the cam follower behind the cam and interlocking the termination blade in the slide with the desired end of the termination blade projecting therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4129788
Abstract: A DC to DC converter has an unregulated input and provides a pair of regulated outputs which independently provide variable power on demand to two independent loads at a substantially constant output voltage. The converter includes three major sections, the input oscillator and pulse width modulation section, the isolated negative DC regulator and the isolated positive DC regulator. Each of the DC regulators is current limited and each is provided with overvoltage protection. One of the output regulators provides improved efficiency through the use of a pair of appropriately connected catch diodes which decrease current change through a filtering inductor, and through implementation of a combined regulator preload resistor and AC pulse width modulating switching transistor drive current source. The converter is a compact modular unit having a low profile with circuit components arranged to minimize temperature instability.

  • Patent number: 4109294
Abstract: A front extrusion having a generally U-shape provides top and bottom walls for the enclosure with a front wall extending therebetween. Integral extruded flanges are formed on the outer surfaces of the top and bottom walls and fastener channels are extruded on the inner surfaces of the top and bottom walls near the ends thereof as well as on the inner surfaces at the junction of the top and bottom walls with the front wall. Circuit board grooves are formed on the inner surfaces of the top and bottom walls and a shaped rear-cover groove is formed internally at the free end of each of the top and bottom walls. A rear cover which may be a plate or a rear cover extrusion is inserted laterally in the rear cover groove and trapped therein by left and right side plates which complete the enclosure. Each of the side plates has a hole pattern therein aligned with the fastener channels in the body extrusion.

  • Patent number: 4107473
Abstract: A paging system is entered through appropriate telephone equipment at a master station to supply an audio paging output at a remote station. A paging amplifier is connected to drive a speaker at the remote station to provide the audio output. A direction sensing circuit is disposed between the master and remote stations which operates to sense time relationship between two signals appearing at two separate points within the direction sensing circuit. One time relationship between the two signals indicates a master station transmission and control, and another time relationship indicates a remote station transmission. The method includes coupling signals from the remote station to first and second points in the control circuit and causing a lag to appear between the two points. Signals from the master station are coupled to the second point in the circuit, and the timing of the signals present at the first and second circuit points are compared to obtain an indication of lead or lag therebetween.

  • Patent number: 3975075
Abstract: A molded one-piece wall plug having a pair of electrical contacts and a ground contact extending from one flat face thereon. The body of the wall plug is approximately a right circular cylinder with the flat face forming one end of the cylinder. A strain-relief sleeve extends in a tangential direction from the periphery of the body and is spaced above the plane containing the flat face of the plug. A multi-conductor cable is led through the strain-relief sleeve into the interior of the plug body having separate conductors connected to each of the electrical contacts and the ground contact. The tangential direction of departure of the strain-relief sleeve from the periphery of the wall plug body is such as to lead the multi-conductor cable in a direction so that when the electrical contacts are inserted in an electrical wall receptacle the cable will not overly any other receptacle in a standard array of receptacles having two rows and at least one column of receptacles.

  • Patent number: 3948473
Abstract: A cable rack for supporting multi-cable runs constructed to obtain desired length and width using unitary rack assemblies. The unitary rack assemblies have left and right tubular side stringers and a plurality of tubular cross straps all having accessible open ends. Unitary rack assemblies may be attached end to end by insertion of connecting bars into the ends of the abutting side stringers. Unitary rack assemblies may be assembled side by side for providing a wide cable rack by utilizing cross-over members having attachment means at each end for securing to parallel unitary rack assemblies. Cross-over members provide for either staggered or aligned cross-straps in the unitary rack assembly. A wide cable rack may be provided by inverting a unitary rack assembly, placing it between two spaced parallel unitary rack assemblies, and attaching the side stringers of adjacent unitary rack assemblies.

  • Patent number: 3946476
Abstract: A termination tool for simultaneously attaching "tip and ring" conductors to adjacent bifurcated electrical terminals on a multiple-terminal block. The multi-conductor termination tool picks up a pair of separate conductors, seats them in adjacent electrical terminals, and cuts the wire on one side of each terminal. The tool has a handle containing an impact device which provides an impulse to a tool termination head adapted to receive the adjacent electrical terminals. The termination head partially seats the conductors in the bifurcated terminals with an initial downward force applied to the handle. The complete conductor seating in the terminals and cutting of the conductors on one side of the terminals is accomplished by the impulse delivered by the impact device.
