  • Patent number: 11108995
Abstract: A method for gas detection including monitoring a concentration of a gas measured by a gas detection device to determine whether or not the concentration of the gas exceeds a threshold, when the concentration of the gas is determined to exceed the threshold, obtaining an image from a camera, the image capturing an area in proximity to the gas detection device at a time when the concentration of the gas is determined to exceed the threshold, annotating the obtained image to overlay a value of the concentration of the gas that exceeds the threshold on the captured area in proximity to the gas detection device, and transmitting the augmented image.

  • Publication number: 20210174917
Abstract: A system and method of displaying neonatal health information are disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes receiving data characterizing a start of an APGAR timer; receiving a time value associated with a current time of the APGAR timer; receiving and displaying on an electronic display a plurality of time windows and a corresponding plurality of target values, each of the plurality of target values representing a predetermined blood oxygen threshold value in connection with a corresponding one of the plurality of time windows; receiving and displaying on an electronic display a measured blood oxygen level value; and highlighting, on the electronic display, a first of the plurality of target values and a corresponding first of the plurality of time windows when the time value associated with the current time of the APGAR timer reaches a first time value.

  • Patent number: 10441827
Abstract: A safety breathing apparatus has a delivery element configured to deliver respirable gas to a respiratory system of a user. The apparatus includes a breathing hose in fluid communication with a first source of respirable gas. A valve housing includes a first port configured to be couple to the delivery element, a second port configured to be coupled to the breaking hose, and a third port configured to dock with a second source of respirable gas without exposing the user to a surrounding atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 9952125
Abstract: Described herein is a gas detection system (5) including a housing (10) having an inlet (20) in fluid communication with an atmosphere; an analyzer (25) within the housing (20) and configured to detect and measure a gas species in the atmosphere using a gas sensor (37); and a pneumatic system (60) contained within the housing (10) and in fluid communication with the inlet (20) to draw an air sample from the atmosphere. The pneumatic system (60) includes a pump (15); a low flow branch (65) in fluid communication with the pump (15) and having an airflow sensor (90) and a first orifice (85); and a high flow branch (70) in fluid communication with the pump (15) and having a second orifice (95). Such a system is particularly suitable for remote sampling because it prevents the high flow needed for remote sampling to be directed towards the gas sensor withstanding only low flow. Related apparatus, systems, methods and/or articles are described.

  • Patent number: 9864408
Abstract: A docking station for a patient monitoring device and method of locking the patient monitoring device in the docking station is provided. A housing selectively supports a patient monitoring device thereon and a first port positioned on the housing receives a patient monitoring device therein. A sensor senses one of a presence and absence of the patient monitoring device within the first port. A locking mechanism mechanically locks the patient monitoring device within the first port, wherein the locking mechanism maintains the docking station and patient monitoring device in a mechanically locked state in response to sensing the presence of the patient monitoring device within the first port.

  • Patent number: 9839362
Abstract: An apparatus and method for measuring at least two patient parameters is provided. A first cuff includes a first inflatable bladder, a first light emitting device and a first sensor that senses light data for use in calculating at least two patient parameters. A second cuff includes a second inflatable bladder, a second light emitting device and a second sensor that senses light data for use in calculating the at least two patient parameters. A controller is coupled the first and second sensors and when the controller causes the bladder of one of the first and second cuffs to inflate, the sensor of the one of the first and second cuffs sensing first light data used in determining a first of the at least two patient parameters and the sensor of the other of the one of first and second cuffs simultaneously senses second light data used in determining of a second of the at least two patient parameters.

  • Patent number: 9806544
Abstract: A charging device receives charge data from a device connected to the charging device. The charge data corresponds to an amount of stored energy in a battery connected to the device. A charge level for the device is determined based on the received charge data. An interface forming part of the device displays the determined charge level such that (i) a visual representation of the charge level is displayed in a first orientation when the charge level is less than a threshold value and (ii) the visual representation of the charge level is displayed in a second orientation when the charge level is greater than or equal to the threshold value.

  • Patent number: 9775568
Abstract: It is determined, during monitoring of a patient, that a plurality of alarm conditions has been initiated. The alarm conditions characterize a measurement by and/or operation of at least one medical device and have an associated grade among a plurality of prioritized grades. Thereafter, alarms can be generated that corresponding to some or all of the plurality of alarm conditions such that among concurrent active alarms: (i) an alarm corresponding to an alarm condition having a highest priority grade is conveyed at a first level upon initiation and, if such alarm condition remains active for a pre-defined time period, at the first level upon expiration of the pre-defined time period, and (ii) alarms corresponding to alarm conditions having equal or lower priority grades than the priority grade of the current highest priority grade alarm condition are conveyed at a second level, the second level being different from the first level.
