Abstract: A disc locator comprises: a platter, a button located centrally of the platter, a number of inner resilient linkages extending from the button, a number of outer resilient linkages extending from the platter and forming pairs with respective ones of the inner resilient linkages. A number of latches are interposed between some of the inner and outer resilient linkage pairs and each comprise a disc-engaging finger for passing through the central aperture of a disc to retain the disc and are adapted to move toward the button upon depression of the button. Lifting levers are associated with some of the inner and outer resilient linkage pairs and bear upwardly upon a disc upon depression of the button to release the disc.

Abstract: A case can hold a disc that has a central hole and a predetermined outside diameter. The case has a pair of wings with a hinge joint for allowing the wings to swing between an open and a closed condition. The wings in the closed position are adapted to releasably hold the disc at a predetermined disc location between the wings with clearance at the periphery of the disc. This clearance allows loading and unloading of the disc in the open condition without interference. The wings have at least a pair of members for encaging the disc in order to impede removal of the disc in any direction around any one of the members. In the closed condition the members extend from the inwardly facing surface of one of the wings, transversely past the predetermined disc location, to a position at the inwardly facing surface of the other wing, in order to prevent removal of the disc. The pair of members are positioned to avoid overhanging the disc.

Abstract: A data disc storage case for holding a data disc has a body including a pair of panels inter-connected for pivoting apart and close together, one of the panels incorporating a disc locator. The locator includes a platform for supporting a disc having a recess, and an integral hooking device extending across opposite sides of the recess for engaging the disc through its central hole. The hooking device includes two hook members having respective upper ends as hooks facing outwards to engage hole disc and respective lower ends connected integrally to the opposite sides of the recess and an integral press member connected to and between the hook members, so that upon depression, the hook members pivot slightly inwards about their lower ends, so the hooks retract for disengagement from the disc and release the disc.
