Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for applying a wear-resistant tribological coating to a sliding region of a synchronizer ring in which a thermally sprayed coating contains a maximum of approximately 40% by weight of solid lubricant, as well as to a synchronizer ring sliding region having a coating applied by such a process.

Abstract: There is disclosed a material wire for wear-resistant and trobologically favorable shaped bodies manufactured by the arc spraying method, which comprises a covering (12) and a filling (14). The covering (12) comprises an alloy based on aluminium with at least one further alloy component, for example magnesium or manganese. The filling (14) comprises further alloy components for the resulting alloy of the shaped body, for example silicon. The filling (14) may apart from the silicon also comprise further components, for example aluminium and/or boron. By way of this the composition and the material properties of the resulting alloy of the shaped body may be set.
Abstract: A spool for wires or cords made of metal, plastic or the like, and particularly welding wires. It has single-piece segments, each forming a U-shaped support yoke with a cross bridge and legs. This yoke extends inwardly in radial planes, its free leg ends having the extensions extending in the circumferential direction, and the extensions, joined together, form two parallel wire rings. Two symmetric wire parts are fastened on the radial legs for forming a hub on both sides of the segment, whereby a wire part on both sides of the hub ring segment has a part with a bent extension leg. This part extends the legs against the spool center and reaches up to the spool diameter. In their transition zone into the hub ring segments, the wire parts are connected with each other, whereby the plane established by the connected wire parts coincides with the plane established by the wire rings and the legs.

Abstract: A spool for holding wires or cords made of metal, plastic or the like is useful, in particular, for holding welding wires. The spool is made from one-piece segments, each forming a U-shaped supporting bow with a cross bridge, and has legs extending inwardly from the ends of the cross bridge in radial planes. The free ends of the legs of the bow have extensions extending in the circumferential direction. The extensions, joined together, form two parallel wire rings and, for joining the segments together, each has an indentation at the transition end to the associated leg. The radial legs approximately extend up to the spool hub diameter and are bent through 180.degree. outwardly in the direction of the extension and returned radially, whereby the outer side of the bend is tangential to the spool hub inner diameter. The cross bridges form the spool winding outer diameter.
