Patent number: 4966329Abstract: An applicator (2) and method for distributing a formulation of predator mites and a carrier. The applicator consists of a container (4) having an opening (14) formed at one or both ends (8) thereof. A hollow neck (10) extends from the opening, away from the container. A dispensing port (16) is formed in the neck (10), is concentrically aligned with the opening. A baffle system (6) regulates the flow of the carrier and predator mite mixture as the applicator is rotated during dispensing of the mixture. The baffle system includes a first internal baffle (18) positioned at the end (8) of the container adjacent the opening. A second, exit baffle (20) is positioned within the neck adjacent the dispensing port. In application, the container is rotated about its longitudinal axis (28). Agitation paddles (12) are affixed to the inner surface (22) of the container for agitating the mixture to maintain a uniform consistency.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 1989Date of Patent: October 30, 1990Assignee: Driscoll Strawberry Associates, Inc.Inventor: Edgar D. Patent number: PP4988Abstract: A new and distinct everbearing variety of strawberry plant characterized by fruit which is conic to long wedged. The plant is lacking in berries of irregular shape or which have longitudinal furrows. The plant is further characterized by attachment of fruit to a reflexed calyx and by pedicel hairs which are perpendicular to the pedicel. When planted in January and February, peak production occurs in late July and continues through fall. The berries have a good appearance due to their regular shape, high gloss and consistent color. Patent number: PP5301Abstract: A new distinct winter planted spring bearing variety of strawberry plant, characterized by its large fruit produced both during the crown crop and subsequent crops. The primary berries have distinct longitudinal furrows. The fruit is produced on long thick pedicels. The hair on pedicels is perpendicular to the pedicel. The berries are considered firm giving the fruit a long shelf life for strawberries. The plant is considered low growing and open, allowing good exposure to its fruit. The leaflets are large, dark rugose. The inflorescences are mostly long which also helps expose its fruit.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1983Date of Patent: October 23, 1984Assignee: Driscoll Strawberry Associates, Inc.Inventor: Harold A.
