Abstract: An apparatus for preventing use of a mobile device while operating a motor vehicle includes a housing for connection to the motor vehicle, a processor and memory contained within the housing for storing and executing mobile device locking software and communication circuits contained within the housing and connected to the processor for sending and receiving locking signals to the mobile device. When the vehicle power is turned on the locking signals are sent to the mobile device and a locking application installed on the mobile device locks the mobile device and prevents the sending or receiving of calls or text messages.
