Abstract: The bird feeder of the present invention includes a feed tray, a housing having bird feed which is disposed above the feed tray, a door which controls the amount of feed delivered from the housing to the feed tray, a cover disposed above the housing and means mounting these components on a pole. The housing has downwardly sloping channels formed therein which extend radially outwardly, and feed apertures formed at its lower end which are circumferentially spaced and aligned with the channels. The door is rotatably secured to the housing and includes openings which register with the feed apertures of the housing for allowing bird feed to pass through the feed apertures and onto the feed tray. The door is rotatably movable between an open position and a closed position.

Abstract: A hummingbird feeder includes a top wall and a bottom wall, the top and bottom walls being joined at their peripheries to define an enclosure constituting a reservoir. A feeding station is positioned in the top wall, the feeding station comprising a feed opening in the top wall. A cleaning opening is provided in the top wall. The cleaning opening is of sufficient size for enabling the cleaning of the reservoir. A cap selectively covers the cleaning opening, the cap being movable for exposing the cleaning opening when it is desired to clean the reservoir. In another embodiment, an upwardly extending boss formed in the bottom wall has a downwardly opening bore adapted to receive therein a member for mounting the feeder in an upright position. Alternatively, a hook adapter having a hook for hanging articles from the feeder is threadably attached to the bottom wall.
Abstract: Feeder for small birds comprising a transparent cylindrical housing secured at its lower extremity to a metallic ring member having circumferentially spaced feed openings therein, and a metallic tray located below said ring, said tray, ring member and housing being retained in assembled relation by means of a single threaded bolt extending upwardly from beneath said tray.
Abstract: A bird feeder construction adjustable for feeding birds exhibiting all kinds of feeding behavior patterns including, for example, birds which feed while perched and birds which feed while in a clinging position. In general the construction includes a feed assembly having a container portion and a platform portion, the container including an open top defining an upper feed access for nonclinging or perch type feeding birds and the platform provided with a plurality of openings forming lower feed access openings for small cling feeding type birds. In addition, a hood member is provided so as to protect the feed assembly from the elements and unwanted species including large birds, squirrels, and the like. Also, means are provided for enabling the feed assembly to be independently pivotally movable with respect to the hood member.
Abstract: A bird feeder construction of the type having a dish for receiving feed material and a hood member associated thereabove so as to protect said dish, not only from the elements, but also from access by undesirable bird species and other pests, such as squirrels and the like. Accordingly, the hood is not only adjustable in varying spaced positions above the dish but is further movable to a position wherein the terminal portions of the hood and dish are either on a level with each other or the hood extends therebelow so as to provide additional security to the feeding system. Additionally, even though the hood is so positioned with respect to the dish, it may at any time be freely upwardly withdrawn therefrom so as to provide complete access to the dish for refilling.
