Patent number: 11722231Abstract: A Drone Detection System (DDS) listens passively to the Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum for a monitored area. If a drone-like signal is detected, the system alerts for the existence of a drone in the monitored area. This detection system may consist of multiple interconnected software and/or hardware-modules. Each module is responsible for extracting a certain physical feature (i.e., physical layer features) of the received signal (e.g. duty-cycle, bandwidth, power, center frequency, envelope in the time and frequency domains, type of modulation, frame size, etc.). The modular design of the system makes it easier to expand by adding more modules that can measure more physical features of the received signal. If the detector detects a signal with certain physical features, it may alert the existence of this signal along with its physical features and name of the most similar known signal from the library.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2021Date of Patent: August 8, 2023Assignee: DRONE GO HOME, LLCInventors: Hadi Kasasbeh, Ziang Gao, Taylor Sinatra, Linda Ziemba

Publication number: 20230045154Abstract: Presented herein are embodiments of signal detection and location finding directed to a “Signature Detector and Direction Finder” (SDDF) add-on module. The SDDF is an add-on module to any Signal Detection System (SDS) that detects, locates, and/or tracks any type(s) of Radio Frequency (RF) signals. Even though the presented embodiments can be used with any RF signal type, the preferred targets are Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAV) or drones, and their controllers. A goal of the SDDF add-on module is to recognize the reported signal of interest and identify its direction. The machine-learning feature enables the system (i.e. SDDF add-on module with SDS) to be deployable in various environments with flexibility in choosing the antenna type(s). The Signature Detector component of the SDDF add-on module uniquely filters drone/controller signals, hence, more accurate direction estimation of the detected signal by SDDF add-on module.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2022Publication date: February 9, 2023Applicant: Drone Go Home, LLC dba AERODEFENSEInventors: Hadi Kasasbeh, Ziang Gao, Taylor Sinatra, Linda Ziemba

Patent number: 11074822Abstract: A drone defense system (DDS) beacon detects unmanned aerial systems (UAS) traffic and transmits a broadcast signal over a transmission region indicating a no-fly zone in which only UAS having an authorization are allowed to fly. The beacon allows UAS with clearance to enter the no-fly zone. Those UAS without clearance are diverted around the no-fly zone, denied Wi-Fi and/or RF connection, forced to return to home launch sites via activation of standard preprogrammed Return to Home (RTH) routines, or forced to land at specified locations where they may be captured. Military, emergency medical services (EMS), and other UAS are allowed to enter no-fly zones in which other UAS, such as commercial, or consumer UAS, cannot enter. DDS cloud collects and stores log data from all deployed DDS beacons. DDS cloud can send system software updates to DDS beacons, make real-time statistical analysis, and provide report data to outside systems.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2019Date of Patent: July 27, 2021Assignee: DRONE GO HOME, LLCInventors: Linda J.
