Abstract: The invention relates to a rim and to a method for its production, in particular for bicycles, using a machining device for the working a welding burr of the rim. The machining device comprises a machining means working the outer contour of the rim and a another machining means working the inner contour of the rim, that has an outer diameter being less than the width of the rim well. The main steps of the method include movement of the first means along the outer contour of the rim to work the welding burr on the outer contour and movement of the second means along the inner contour of the rim to work the welding burr on the inner contour. During machining the inner contour the rim is pivoted around an axis by a predefined angular range.
Abstract: A wheel, a rim, a rim eyelet and a spoke nipple, particularly for a bicycle, wherein the rim eyelet has a throughbore to receive a spoke nipple. The spoke nipple includes a nipple body and a nipple thread to work in concert with a spoke. At least one contact layer made from a material which effects a reduction in friction at the area of contact is provided between the spoke and the rim eyelet of the wheel's rim.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for transporting human beings, comprising a frame, at least one tire extending in a peripheral direction around a wheel with a certain amount of elasticity, and a braking system. The braking power of the braking system is substantially independent from the elasticity of the tires. The invention also relates to a method for arresting said transportation device.
Abstract: The invention relates to a hub for bicycles and the like, comprising a hub axle and a hub housing concentrically mounted in relation thereto including a bearing device having at least two bearings mounted between the axle and the housing. A rotor (25) for receiving at least one toothed wheel is disposed on the hub axle (4) and a free-wheel device is arranged between the rotor and the housing of the hub, said device having two toothed discs (22, 23), the toothed surfaces of which are pressed against each other by a pretensioning device. The toothed surfaces of which are pressed against each other by a pretensioning device. The toothed discs are mounted ina substantially concentric manner in relation to the hub axle (4) on planes which are aligned perpendicular to the hub axle. The toothed discs are float mounted or fixed so that the toothed discs can be tilted in relation to the hub axle.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spring system for bicycles having a first load-applying segment (22) and a second load-applying segment (26) as well as at least one positive spring (14) and at least one negative spring (12, 88) arranged to be effectively operable between said first and said second load-applying segment (26).
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spring damper system (1) for bicycles having a first load-applying segment (20), a second load-applying segment (22), at least one spring mechanism (12) and one damping means as well as a method of spring suspension and damping of bicycles.
