  • Publication number: 20160113341
Abstract: A reversible locking garment closure includes male and female members each attached to an end of a garment. The male member has a pin at an acute angle and the female member receives the pin in a corresponding angled channel. The acute angle provides resistance to decoupling the male and female members, and allows the closure to function under high tensile stress. The male and female members are coupled via motion in a plane parallel to the front and rear faces of the closure, allowing the closure to be operable when worn in a reverse orientation. In an embodiment, the closure includes a locking mechanism which resiliently resists decoupling of the male and female members.

  • Publication number: 20160000164
Abstract: A brassiere closure for full figured brassieres or orthopedic use includes an easily operable engagement of a single large loop and hook. The loop is positionable into an open position in which the hook may readily engage the loop. When pressure is applied to the loop, the loop assumes a closed position, thereby connecting the two wings of the brassiere. In an embodiment, the loop has a D-shaped ring which is hinged to a base, and the hook is ovate and self-centering. In another embodiment, an integral double spring serves to bias the loop in an open position. In another embodiment, secondary magnetic fasteners are used for additional strength and to assist in aligning the loop and the hook. The size and novel features of the closure make it easily operable, even when located behind the wearer's back.

  • Patent number: 8869358
Abstract: A fastener for interconnecting two garment straps has a male part having an elongated base anchored to one of the straps, a web projecting transversely from the base, and a bar fixed to the web at a spacing from the base and having a pair of ends. A female part has a back panel secured to the other of the straps and a front panel. The back panel forms a recess dimensioned to receive the bar and having at a back edge back corners. The front panel forms ears spaced at the corners from the back panel and dimensioned such the male part can fit with the female part with the connecting bar engaging the back edge of the recess with its ends under the corners and its web projecting out of the recess between the ears.

  • Patent number: 8505174
Abstract: A one-step fabric fastener has a front element formed with a backwardly open seat cavity holding a magnet and having a pair of catch faces directed away from one end of the front element, flanking the seat cavity, and angled such that front edges of the catch faces are closer to the one end than back edges of the catch faces. The one end of the front element can exert traction on the front element and front magnet in a direction toward the one end. A back element formed with a forwardly projecting bump holding a back magnet is loosely fittable in the seat cavity has a pair of catch faces engageable in the direction with the front-element catch faces on engagement of the bump in the cavity. The magnets attract each other and pull the bump into the seat cavity on juxtaposition of the front and back element.
