Abstract: This coil, intended most particularly for automotive vehicles, is characterized by the fact that a support (5) includes means (9, 10, 14, 14a) for maintaining and positioning primary and secondary windings of the coil, which cooperate with respective complementary means on each winding form, as well as different electrical connections (6, 7) of low and high tension.
Abstract: An electronic distribution and control device for the ignition of internal combustion engines, particularly for motor vehicles, having a computer with which is combined an ignition advance system the said computer processing signals supplied by detectors of limit positions between which the ignition must occur as a function of the speed of rotation of the engine, and by at least one sensor of one of the operational parameters of the engine, which signals are then amplified and fed to voltage step-up coils to produce an ignition spark between the electrodes of at least one sparking plug.
Abstract: An electronic ignition control device employs two switch devices (e.g. mechanical contact breakers) operating at different instants to control initiation and interruption of current flow in the primary winding of the ignition coil. The coil current is controlled by an output transistor which is biased to conduct but which is switched off by an input transistor when a spark is required. The input transistor is controlled by the two switch devices so that opening of one switch device initiates primary current and opening of the other interrupts this primary current.
Abstract: A voltage regulator for a vehicle battery charging system includes a Darlington pair for controlling the switching of current through the field winding of a generator. The input transistor of the Darlington pair has its base connected to one input terminal of the regulator by a normally non-conductive Zener diode of breakdown voltage at least five times the nominal voltage of the system, to protect the Darlington pair against over-voltage transients.
Abstract: An ignition device for an internal combustion engine of the kind having an ignition coil comprising a primary winding and a secondary winding, a current limiting resistance connected in series with the primary winding and a contact breaker, wherein there is provided means which shunt said current limiting resistance for a predetermined time at each closure of the contacts of said contact breaker.
