  • Patent number: 11994666
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe techniques for independently controlling an angle (e.g., change in tilt) and/or position (e.g., change in lateral position) of an optical beam. For example, an optical beam control system may include a telescope with rotatable mirrors and lenses configured to provide a path to an optical beam to produce an output optical beam, which in turn is made into parallel optical beams following a diffractive optical element. The optical beam control system may also include a detector system to a beam angle and/or a beam position of one of the parallel optical beams to generate feedback signal or signals to control a rotation of one or more of the mirrors in the telescope such as to adjust the beam angle, the beam position, or both of the parallel optical beams. The optical beam control system may be part of a quantum information processing (QIP) system.

  • Patent number: 6687685
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method of medical knowledge domain modeling and automated medical decision-making, such as for online, questionnaire-based medical triage. In the present invention, information such as conditions and characteristics related to a diagnosis or disposition level is modeled in a Bayesian Network. The Bayesian Network may comprise instantiable nodes, fault nodes, intermediary nodes, a utility node and a decision node. Using Bayesian inference, the conditional probability of any pair in the network may be determined in real-time. These conditional probabilities are modified upon the input of evidence, which is typically in the form of answers to a dynamic set of questions designed to identify a diagnosis or disposition level for the patient under evaluation.

  • Patent number: 4830576
Abstract: A metering fuel pump adapted for feeding fuel containing vapor or air to an engine that includes a housing assembly. The metering fuel pump further includes a motor section encased inside the housing assembly for providing the required rotary motion to a two-stage pump section. The speed of the motor section is controlled by a motor controller section that provides a voltage regulated flow of fuel. The two-stage pump section imparts pressure to the fuel and encloses a cyclonic vapor separator section.
