The sidewall and base define an interior of the receptacle to receive items. The sidewall includes one or more rigid plates spaced along the circumference of the sidewall, and one or more cutouts removed from at least one of the plates to define an ornamental feature in the sidewall. Each cutout is formed by cutting and defined by a cut edge extending along the periphery of the cutout. The cutouts can be torch-cut under automatic control.
