  • Patent number: 4854989
Abstract: The present invention relates to method making an incontinence diaper built up from a barrier layer (1) and a nonwoven layer (2) affixed thereto for providing two portions (6, 7) surrounding the lower part of the body and a crotch portion (8) connecting these portions. At least one elastic band (17, 18) extends from the central part of the crotch portion (8) along both side edges (11, 12) of said portion, in over both portions (6, 7) and along the entire length of the diaper with the elastic band (17, 18) being attached with a continuously varying tension in the diaper material. The tension in the elastic band (17, 18) is greatest at the crotch portion (8) and dimishes to approximately half its value over both the portions (6, 7).

  • Patent number: 4524474
Abstract: An absorption pad useful for protecting a bed, furniture, or the like, includes a lower liquid impervious material layer and an upper liquid absorbent material layer laminated thereto. The liquid absorbent layer is impregnated with strings or filaments of a liquid resistant agent which does not stiffen the pad. The strings or filaments form a grid-like pattern for defining compartments between the strings over preferably the entire area of the absorption pad, thereby for limiting the spread of liquid over the pad. The layers are laminated together, and may be laminated by an adhesive. The laminating areas may be in a filament pattern corresponding to and overlapping the filament pattern of the strings of the liquid resistant agent.

  • Patent number: 4438163
Abstract: A pad with shape adapting properties, including at least two adjacently located layers of a preferably absorbing material which are joined together in the region of the outer peripheral edge portions of the layers the layers further including a free tongue-shaped portion extending in an overlapping relationship to corresponding parts in remaining layers, the overlapping tongue-shaped parts being arranged to glide or slide in relation to each other to an overlapping position with the line of extension adapted to the configuration of an object covered by the tongue-shaped parts. Opposed portions of the layers defined by cuts surrounding the tongue-shaped portions, are also preferably arranged to act as shape adaptable parts, co-acting with the tongue-shaped parts.

  • Patent number: 4261057
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a disposable bib. The bib is formed of a rectangular sheet of foldable paper or the like. One end is folded up to define a pocket and the side edges of the folded up section are bonded to the side edges of the sheet. The side edges of the sheet are folded inwardly before the end of the sheet is folded up, thereby defining a gusset at the attached side edges, which gusset permits the pocket to be opened outwardly.

  • Patent number: 4240482
Abstract: A bag-like liquid container especially intended for medical use is formed from flexible material and includes at least one closable spout for filling or emptying the container, having its center line substantially in the plane of the flat container, the spout being provided with a flange formed integral therewith, said flange being weldably unitable to the container material for providing a completely impervious attachment of the spout to the container as well as a separation of the sides of the container so that liquid flowing into and out of the container is always guaranteed a free passage.

  • Patent number: 4069781
Abstract: The invention relates to a protective cover of fibre material such as non-woven material, intended to be applied as a cover on a substructure such as those intended for sitting or lying, for example as an antimacassar for seats, there being at least one row of stitching running across the cover and made as double chain stitching with such thread structures that it forms an attachment for the hooks of a burr strip attached to the substructure. The upper thread of the double chain stitching consists of a relatively highly elastic thread of multifilament type having crimped filaments, the upper thread forming consecutive loops on the lower side of the cover in a known way, while the lower thread of the double chain stitching consists of a cotton or cotton-synthetic thread which is relatively unelastic in relation to the upper thread.

  • Patent number: 3993187
Abstract: A method of turning a plurality of stackable cups to a position where the cups repose on their open and wider ends, the cups having a height which is less than the greatest diameter of the cups at their open ends, in which the cups are taken to a first zone on a continuously forwardly driven conveyor belt randomly assuming a position reposing on their bottom ends, reposing on their open ends or lying on one side. The cups are then moved through a second zone where those cups which are lying on one side are raised to a position where they repose on their open ends. Next, the cups are moved through a third zone where those cups reposing on their bottom ends are tipped over to a position where they repose their open ends. Finally, the cups are collected into a row and arranged after each other and led to a zone where the cups not reposing with their open ends on the belt are removed from the belt, whereafter the cups reposing on their open ends are led in a row to a position for stacking.
