Abstract: A method of manufacturing a golf club head includes: (a) providing a model of a golf club head, the model including a striking face portion and a first plurality of structural attributes; (b) generating first data comprising relationship information between locations about the striking face and predicted coefficient of restitution or characteristic time values based on modeled golf ball impact; (c) providing second data comprising relationship information between generalized striking face position and impact probability; (d) calculating a first expected overall performance value based on the first data and the second data; (e) modifying the first plurality of structural attributes based on the first expected overall performance value, resulting in a second plurality of structural attributes different from the first plurality of structural attributes; and (f) forming a golf club head having club head structural attributes corresponding to the second plurality of structural attributes of the model.

Abstract: A putter-type golf club head that, when oriented in a reference position, includes a blade portion comprising a striking face, a top line, and a sole, the striking face including a face center. A rear portion of the club head is in communication with, and rearward of, the blade portion. An alignment element of the club head is rearward of, and recessed toward the sole from, the top line, and the alignment element defines a virtual center line segment oriented in a substantially front-to-rear direction at a height equal to about 21.3 mm to about 21.4 mm. The center line segment is not spaced more than 10 mm from a virtual vertical plane passing through the face center and extending generally perpendicular to the striking face, and a width of the club head is no less than 3.0 in.

Abstract: A putter-type golf club head that, when oriented in a reference position, includes a rear portion in communication with, and rearward of, a blade portion and having a rear portion top surface. The club head also includes a projection extending upwardly from the rear portion top surface, the projection having a projection top surface, a heel-ward side surface, a toe-ward side surface, and a rear surface, the projection top surface comprising a generally planar surface. And the club head further includes a sightline formed in the projection top surface and that comprises a groove at least partially filled with a filler material having a visually contrasting appearance to portions of the top surface surrounding the groove, the groove defining a virtual center line segment oriented in a substantially front-to-rear direction at a substantially constant height from a lowermost point of the sole between 16 mm and 26 mm.

Abstract: A clamping device for use with a golf club head. The clamping device may include a base and a holding device which is rotatably coupled to the base. The holding device may include at least first and second engagement portions. Each engagement portion is configured to at least partially accommodate an iron or wedge type golf club head, and prevent such club head from moving along a plane which is defined by the holding device. The clamping device may also include first and second clamp members which are each coupled to the base so as to be alignable with and operative to firmly seat corresponding golf club head within respective ones of the first and second engagement portions of the holding device.

Abstract: A golf club head comprises a loft angle no less than 18°, a striking face, a sole portion, and a top portion having an exterior surface. In an imaginary vertical plane spaced from a face center by no more than 10 mm and perpendicular to an imaginary striking face plane, an imaginary line segment has a length of 25 mm, a first endpoint located in the imaginary striking face plane, a second endpoint located above the exterior surface, and forms an angle ? with the striking face plane between 55° and 65°. The line segment is tangent to the exterior surface at a first point. A second point is located on the imaginary line segment and spaced from the first point by no less than 1 mm. The second point is spaced from the exterior surface by a gap distance that is no greater than 0.15 mm.

A first auxiliary cavity is delimited by the perimeter weighting element and a first perimeter wall, the first perimeter wall coupled to the sole portion and to the heel portion of the perimeter weighting element. A second auxiliary cavity is delimited by the perimeter weighting element and a second perimeter wall, the second perimeter wall coupled to the sole portion and to the toe portion of the perimeter weighting element. A central cavity is at least partially delimited by the base surface, the perimeter weighting element, the first perimeter wall, and the second perimeter wall, and an insert is within the central cavity.

Abstract: Provided are a golf club head and a method for producing the golf club head. The golf club head comprises a striking face that in turn comprises a recurrent texture pattern that has a period T and that is defined by a plurality of depressions, each depression having an average depth no greater than 0.10 mm. The striking face also comprises a plurality of scorelines that at least partially intersect the recurrent texture pattern and that have a scoreline pitch Ps such that T/Ps is greater than 1.0, each scoreline having an average depth no less than 0.10 mm.

Abstract: A putter-type golf club head has a main body and a face component including a first element formed of a resilient material. The putter-type golf club head also has a second element forward of the first element and including a rigid material. The second element is secured directly to the first element. The first element has a thickness that gradually increases toward a sole portion of the club head.
