  • Publication number: 20220056706
Abstract: Removable flooring, which can be peeled from a flooring substrate is prepared by applying to an adhesive layer attached to the surface of a flooring substrate a particulate material followed by application of a cross-linkable or curable polymer composition, or by applying to the adhesive layer a slurry comprising the particulate material and the cross-linkable or curable polymer composition. The cross-linkable or curable polymer composition surrounds the particulate material and adheres to the adhesive layer to provide, upon cure, a coherent, flooring layer comprising the adhesive, particular material and cured polymer which can be peeled from the underlying flooring substrate as a single substrate.

  • Publication number: 20210331199
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a system and method for dispensing a floor coating in a specified ratio of multiple components is disclosed. The system and method may set and maintain a desired ratio of the multiple components by controlling, with a controller, a drive rate of respective pumps configured for propelling the components from a reservoir to a mixer or a dispenser. The controller may be responsive to at least one of a measured actual drive rate, an environmental condition, an actual usage of each component, and an operational parameter of the system, for adjusting a drive rate of the respective pumps to compensate for discrepancies that may affect the ratio of the multiple components.

  • Patent number: 10252290
Abstract: A low odor, fast curing composition coating composition with improved safety and mechanical properties, which cures readily under ambient conditions comprises a) a reactive polymer, oligomer or prepolymer having pendant acrylate or methacrylate groups, b) low odor acrylate or methacrylate monomers, c) an acrylate or methacrylate crosslinker, d) an isocyanate crosslinker, e) a thermal or photo active initiator, and optionally a reactive diluent and/or bead polymer. The composition is cured through multiple pathways, e.g., peroxide initiated radical curing and urethane step chain polymerization. Flooring and other construction materials coated with the composition are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10035924
Abstract: Waterborne polyurethane coating compositions comprising a polyol, an isocyanate crosslinker, and a small amount of thermoplastic microfibers, e.g., polyolefin microfibers, having a length of less than 1 mm, exhibit a much less sag, roller lines and other surface imperfections upon application to a substrate, in particular a vertical substrate such as a wall, than analogous water borne polyurethane compositions that lack the microfibers.

  • Patent number: 9657191
Abstract: A UV or thermally curable, low odor, liquid coating composition, which readily applied at room temperature without heating comprising: a) a reactive acrylic based polymer comprising pendant acrylate or methacrylate groups; b) reactive unsaturated monomers, typically acrylic or methacrylic monomers, often polyfunctional monomers; c) a thermal or UV activated radical initiator; and in many embodiments, d) an inert and non-polar wax or viscous oil, e.g., a paraffinic material, and e) optionally a tertiary amine, for example, a tertiary amine accelerator used with a thermally activated radical initiator. Also provided are substrates coated with the composition of the invention, for example, flooring coated with the inventive composition.
