  • Patent number: 6508447
Abstract: A reinforcement bar support system transfers forces perpendicular to a wall to a surrounding frame while permitting movement of the wall with respect to the frame in the direction of the plane of the wall and in the vertical direction. A bar is built into the wall. The apparatus includes a brace that is attached to the frame and a face that projects from the brace. Flanges extend outwardly from the face to receive the bar and limit movement of the bar with respect to the frame in the direction perpendicular to the wall.

  • Patent number: 5644889
Abstract: A remedial wall anchor system includes a reinforcing rod or wire, a tie rod, anchor components which secure the tie rod to the facade wall and the back-up wall, and a capturing device. The tie rod extends between the facade and back-up walls and is insertable through a hole extending through the facade wall. The capturing device is secured to the front end of the tie rod and includes first and second spaced-apart upstanding surfaces joined by a linking member to form a channel for capturing a portion of the reinforcing wire. The remedial anchor system can be used both mechanical and adhesive facade anchors and back-up anchors. The remedial anchor wall system is easily and economically used to reconnect an existing facade wall to a back-up wall. Initially, the user forms a horizontal groove in a mortar bedjoint of the facade wall. Then, a hole is drilled into the grooved mortar line so that the hole is connected to the groove and extends through the facade wall.

  • Patent number: 4612751
Abstract: A reinforcing structure for precast concrete is provided. The reinforcing structure includes a horizontally disposed bearing plate, and a vertically oriented planar reinforcing mesh extending above, below and inboard of the bearing plate. A vertical reaction bar is connected to the vertically oriented reinforcing mesh at a horizontal position inboard of the bearing plate. A horizontal reinforcing bar is oriented parallel to the vertically oriented planar reinforcing mesh.

  • Patent number: 4606163
Abstract: A novel anchor system is provided for connecting backup studs and backup wall systems to veneers such as brick work and the like. The novel anchor system includes an elongated anchor channel for affixation to a backup stud. This arrangement stiffens the combined stud and channel against bending. An anchor tie, connected to the channel, extends for connection to the veneer. When assembled, the stud, the elongate channel, the anchor tie, and the veneer together have a resistance to wind loads and bending which exceeds the sum of the parts.

  • Patent number: 4596102
Abstract: An anchor for tying between a sequentially layered veneer and a backup system. The anchor comprises a channel with a slotted web for accepting an anchoring means and apertured flanges pivotally receiving a formed wire tie. The anchor is adjustable translationally and pivotally as a unit. By locating the apertures in the flanges off center of the length of the elongate slot, pivoting of the channel 180.degree. expands the vertical adjusting capability of the tie which is captured fixedly between successive layers.
