Patent number: 8502775Abstract: A handheld computing device is introduced comprising a motion detection sensor(s) and a motion control agent. The motion detection sensor(s) detect motion of the computing device in one or more of six (6) fields of motion and generate an indication of such motion. The motion control agent, responsive to the indications of motion received from the motion sensors, generate control signals to modify, one or more of the operating state and/or the displayed content of the computing device based, at least in part, on the received indications.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2010Date of Patent: August 6, 2013Assignee: Durham Logistics LLCInventors: John T. Orchard, Christopher R. Uhlik

Patent number: 7424506Abstract: A method is presented comprising analyzing two or more input terms on a per-bit basis within each level of bit-significance. Maximally segmenting each of the levels of bit-significance into one or more one-, two-, and/or three-bit groups, and designing a hyperpipelined hybrid Wallace tree adder utilizing one or more full-adders, half-adders, and associated register based, at least in part, on the maximal segmentation of the input terms.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2001Date of Patent: September 9, 2008Assignee: Durham Logistics LLCInventor: John T. Patent number: 6981011Abstract: A first value of a sinusoidal-shaped electronic signal is computed based on a Lagrange interpolation using an update phase-angle associated with the electronic signal, a first set of equally-spaced data-values that generally describe the sinusoidal function and a second set of pre-calculated-values, which are based on spacing differences between the data-values. The first value can then be used to update the electronic signal or used to update another signal, such as a communication signal.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2001Date of Patent: December 27, 2005Assignee: Durham Logistics LLCInventor: David Napolitano

Patent number: 6888795Abstract: Allocating resources in a circuit switched data network, comprising receiving a request for a resource from a device coupled to the circuit switched data network and granting the resource to the requesting device if the resource is available. If the resource is not available, then examining the instantaneous quantity of data to be transmitted by the requesting device; the rate of change in the instantaneous quantity of data to be transmitted by the requesting device; and the time of utilization of the resource by the requesting device, and granting the resource to the requesting device based on the examination of the three factors.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2002Date of Patent: May 3, 2005Assignee: Durham Logistics LLCInventors: Vivek Gupta, Sumit Sanyal, Xiangzhong Zeng, Stephen J. Patent number: RE42224Abstract: An emergency call recognition system which is activated when an off-hook situation occurs, which recognizes when an emergency number is dialed with or without the presence of a dial tone, and which provides the caller a communication channel to complete such a call. The present invention is used to give priority to emergency telephone calls. Typically the present invention is used in wireless local loop systems, however the present invention can also be incorporated into a conventional telephone system. The present invention uses an emergency call recognition system to determine if a person is dialing an emergency telephone number. If the emergency call recognition system recognizes a dialed telephone number as an emergency telephone number, then the caller is provided with a communication channel to complete the telephone call. The caller is provided a communication channel even if all of the communication channels are in use. This is accomplished by disconnecting calls that are not of an emergency nature.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2005Date of Patent: March 15, 2011Assignee: Durham Logistics LLCInventors: Christopher R. Uhlik, Mitchell D. Trott, Lawrence J. Alder
