    Abstract: A fluid sampling device which collects the initial sample of a fluid stream, discards it and collects a mid-stream sample for future analysis. When used for the collection of urine, the initial sample is collected in a hopper, which after collecting the initial sample, rotates from a first position to a second position and discards some of the initial sample. While in its second position, a surface of the hopper diverts the mid-stream sample to the container for collection of the sample.
