  • Patent number: 10469893
Abstract: An integrated cast and sling system capable of intermediating seamless multimedia data and playback transfers across multiple display devices is disclosed. The integrated cast and sling system contains a cast-sling box (CSB) connected to a conventional cable or satellite set-top box and a plurality of multimedia signal sources. In one instance, the CSB operates as an intermediary and specialized set-top box that provides seamless interoperability of multimedia cast or sling commands and related multimedia data and playback transfers between a gesture-based multimedia casting and slinging command device (e.g. a smart phone, a tablet computer, or another device with gesture command capabilities) and a targeted device (e.g. a television, a computer display, or an electronic device with a display unit).

  • Patent number: 10469892
Abstract: Novel gesture-based multimedia casting and slinging command methods and systems that are configured to accommodate seamless multimedia data and playback transfers across various electronic devices in a multiple display device environment are disclosed. In one instance, a “casting” of an audio/video (AV), graphical, or photographic multimedia content from a touch-screen electronic device to a targeted device (e.g. a television, another portable electronic display device, a cast-sling box, etc.) is intuitively represented by a finger swipe-up gesture command because a finger swipe-up motion mimics a physical motion of pushing, throwing, or sending an item from the touch-screen electronic device to the targeted device.

  • Patent number: 10321182
Abstract: A novel intermediary set-top box called a “cast-sling box” (CSB) uniquely incorporates multimedia and/or IoT data casting, slinging, transcoding, referring (i.e. referral mode), rendering, and recording capabilities for seamless interoperability of various electronic devices in a multiple device environment. The novel intermediary set-top box (i.e. “CSB”) is also configured to perform a holistic-level device analysis on a plurality of IoT devices in a home or office environment. Furthermore, a holistic computerized user interface that can simultaneously and synergistically control and manage a multiple number of IoT devices is devised with the CSB as an intermediary set-top box.

  • Patent number: 6681059
Abstract: A digital image processor is provided. The digital image processor includes a shift register having a number of serially connected registers. The shift register is receptive to an image data word signal and has a plurality of taps. A coefficient store provides a number of quantized coefficients in which the number of coefficients stored corresponds to an integer multiple of the taps. A number of multipliers are provided, each having a first input coupled to a tap of the shift register and having a second input coupled to the coefficient store to receive a coefficient to provide a number of multiplied output. An adder is coupled to the multiplied outputs, wherein the adder generates a filtered and scaled image data output signal.

  • Patent number: 6587158
Abstract: A digital image processor includes an input buffer for storing raster-scanned data. A slice-buffer memory is coupled to the input buffer to store a portion of a vertical slice of said raster-scanned data. The vertical slice is processed by a vertical slice processor having an input coupled to the slice-buffer memory. The vertical slice processor reassembles the vertical slices into processed raster-scanned data in an output buffer that is coupled to the output of the vertical slice processor. The digital image processor preferably utilizes multiple sequential processing stages and processes the raster-scanned data along the horizontal axis of the vertical slices.

  • Patent number: 6393505
Abstract: A data bus arbitration system is disclosed including a bus status monitor which is coupled to a data bus and generates a bus status signal for use by an arbiter. The arbiter is coupled to a number of requesters, each of which belongs to a distinct class of requesters. The arbiter arbitrates between multiple requests using heuristics dependent upon the classes of the requesters. The nature of one class of requestors is that the requestors have real time requirements which must be met in order to maintain data integrity within the system. The nature of a second class of requestors is such that the requestors have semi-real time requirements which must be met in order to maintain data integrity within the system. The nature of the system is such that the available bandwidth must be utilized very efficiently in order to maintain data integrity within the system.
