  • Publication number: 20020171832
Abstract: A testing frame supports a test lens unit below a test image piece. A housing of an imaging device is secured to the frame below the lens unit such that an aperture in the housing is registered with the lens unit along an optical axis. An optical sensing unit is loosely mounted on the housing, is adjustable relative to the aperture along transverse axes of a sensing plane, and is rotatable relative to the housing about a rotary axis that is generally aligned with the optical axis. Upon operation, the sensing unit generates image signals corresponding to a captured image of the image piece. The image signals are processed so as to determine a skew angle of the captured image. The angular orientation of the sensing unit relative to the housing is then corrected in accordance with the skew angle.

  • Publication number: 20010007473
Abstract: In an imaging method and apparatus for generating an enhanced optical image of a scene, input optical image signals are generated by sensing an optical image input of the scene at a single exposure, the optical image input having a wide input dynamic range with a plurality of dynamic range portions. The input optical image signals are subsequently processed to obtain a plurality of optical image data during the single exposure, wherein the optical image data have dynamic ranges that correspond respectively to the dynamic range portions. Thereafter, the optical image data are combined to result in optical image output data corresponding to the enhanced optical image of the scene.

  • Publication number: 20010002216
Abstract: An imaging apparatus for generating a combined output image includes an image generating unit, and an image processing unit connected to the image generating unit. The image generating unit generates a plurality of input optical image data, each of which consists of an array of input image components and corresponds to an optical image of a scene taken at a respective focusing distance. The image processing unit processes the plurality of input optical image data to produce an output optical image data that consists of an array of output image components.

  • Patent number: 6122604
Abstract: The present invention relates to digital protection circuits in a CRT based display system for the purpose of providing hardware protections to the system before exactly removing a crisis. Self-testing and diagnostic capabilities are also supplemented in a CRT based monitor that are used to lacking in the monitor. The protection circuit basically includes a microprocessor section, a timer section, a register section, a digital to analog converter section, an analog to digital converter section, a non-volatile memory section, and an analog section. All sections can be integrated in a single chip and share a single controller. By using two diodes with their negative terminals coupled together to supplement capabilities of self-testing and diagnostic even when lack of power supplying. All implementations mentioned above can be easily achieved at a very low additional cost.

  • Patent number: 5943092
Abstract: A digital control CRT test system allows the testing of a CRT and various peripheral components thereof to be digitally controlled and supervised by a microprocessor. The test system comprises at least a microprocessor and at least a nonvolatile memory unit for storing at least a test parameter data set representative of a test setting for the CRT part under testing. Digital to analog converters in conjunction with analog test instruments are used to set the CRT part under testing in accordance with the test parameter data set stored in the nonvolatile memory unit. Further, analog to digital converters are used to convert the analog response signal indicative of whether the CRT part under testing is in good condition into digital form readable by the microprocessor. The microprocessor is able to generate accordingly a report indicative whether the CRT part under testing is in good condition.

  • Patent number: 5889500
Abstract: A single chip display system processor in a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) based display is disclosed, including a display system controller, a horizontal processor, a vertical processor, and optionally, the on screen display (OSD) processor. The horizontal processor, a vertical processor, and the on screen display (OSD) processor are under control by the display system controller. This single chip display system processor also controls some elements of the CRT based display, such as power horizontal deflection circuit, power vertical deflection circuit, video processor, the power video circuit, power supply for the electronics and CRT, and the user front panel. The display system processor encompasses a phase lock loop (PLL) circuit within the horizontal processor that compares incoming horizontal signal with the feedback signal from power horizontal deflection circuit for the purpose of synchronizing incoming video signals to display stable image in the CRT based display system.
