Abstract: This disclosure teaches an apparatus and related method for energizing gas and more particularly generating ozone for treating water. An oxygen containing gas is introduced into a gap between two electrodes and the electrodes are connected each to an opposite pole of a high voltage source so that ozone is produced in the gap. The water cools one of the electrodes and the other electrode is formed as a heat pipe whereby it too is cooled. A porous material is arranged to pass the ozone into the water.
