  • Patent number: 11473252
Abstract: A tension member protection system includes two or more shell elements arranged circumferentially around a tension member which together surround a cavity that receives the tension member. A plurality of joining sleeves, each of which is associated with one of the two shell elements, is designed and arranged on the shell elements in such a way that, in a cavity forming state, they interlock so that their through-holes in the longitudinal direction of the tension member protection system only overlap completely when the two shell elements lie with their contact surfaces against other. A rod-shaped element is designed to be passed through the through-holes of the interlocking joining sleeves.

  • Patent number: 7967532
Abstract: A ground anchor or rock anchor is provided that includes an anchor tension member composed of one or more individual elements, such as steel bars, steel wires, or steel wire strands. While the anchor tension member is intended to be introduced into a drilled hole and anchored there, the anchoring of the anchor tension member at the exposed end of the drilled hole is achieved with the aid of anchor head. To this end, the anchor head comprises a support element to bear directly or indirectly against the underlying rock or substratum, and an anchoring component for tensioning the individual elements, which can be brought into a frictional connection with the individual elements while bearing against the support element. In addition, a cap, which extends around the anchoring component and the ends of the individual elements, protects the exposed end of the anchor head.

  • Patent number: 7950093
Abstract: A tension member is provided for structures, in particular a cable stay for a cable-stayed bridge, in which one or more tension elements, such as steel rods, steel wires, or stranded steel wires, run inside a tubular sheath. The tension elements fill only a portion of the cross-section of the tubular sheath, so that a remaining unoccupied area is left. In order to prevent the tension elements from moving in the transverse direction with respect to the tension member, there is arranged in the remaining unoccupied area of the tubular sheath a filler body that extends over a limited longitudinal section of the tension member and includes a deformable sheath, which tightly encloses a hollow space that is delimited on all sides and can be filled with a filler medium.

  • Patent number: 7553108
Abstract: A method and apparatus for tensioning a staggered anchorage comprised of a plurality of tension members, which are anchored in a bore hole at various depths, thus having different free steel lengths. For each staggered anchorage, each tension member is tensioned up to a predetermined maximal load and is then subsequently adjusted to the working load. To achieve a consistent elongation reserve of the individual tension member and thus to increase the security of a staggered anchorage, the staggered anchorage is adjusted to the working load, all tension members are adjusted to a reduced elongation (?Iw) by a uniform elongation difference (?Imax??Iw) relative to the respective elongation (?Imax) of the predetermined maximal load. An arrangement for performing the method has a single tensioning plane, which is force interconnected with defined locking elements that are arranged on tension members in clamping planes.

  • Patent number: 7299516
Abstract: A corrosion-resistant tension member, particularly an inclined cable of a cable stayed bridge, is comprised of a bundle of individual elements, for example, steel wire strands, which in the open area is encapsulated by sheathing, and which in the area of a rerouting point, for example, at the pylon of a cable-stayed bridge, extends inside a saddle pipe in a canal having the shape of a circular arc. In order to avoid impairments at the ends of the saddle pipe when sheathing is connected to the structure, the saddle pipe is extended in the shape of a circular arc beyond a tangential exit of the bundle by a length L so that the bundle is exposed at an end of the saddle pipe without any risk of abutting.

  • Patent number: 7181890
Abstract: An anchoring device for a corrosion-protected tension member includes an anchor body, which is provided with bores for the passage of the tension elements. Sealing discs, which can be compressed by means of a pressure plate and threaded bolts, are provided on a face of the anchor body and lie opposite a downstream face. A perforated disc, which is enclosed by two supporting discs, is located downstream of the sealing discs and the pressure plate. The perforated disc acts as a spacer for the tension elements and is fixed between lugs that are opposite an anchor tube and that is connected to the anchor body. The locking of the perforated disc enables the position of the tension elements to remain parallel, even when the sealing discs are compressed to activate the seal. If individual tension elements have to be replaced, the loosening of the threaded bolts allows the sealing discs to “breathe” and to return to their original position.

Abstract: A corrosion-resistant tension member, particularly a tendon for prestressed concrete, comprising a bundle of tension elements arranged inside a sheathing, has at its ends anchoring devices each with an anchor plate.
