Abstract: An exhaust hood ventilating system which uses an intake blower of outside air, and an exhaust blower with means for regulating the speed of the blowers and regulating the volume of air into the ventilating hood and means for diverting outdoor intake air into the kitchen area for ventilation before it is passed back to the hood for exhaust to the outdoors.

Abstract: An apparatus for filtering grease laden fumes in the space above a cooking appliance, including a hood, a supply air plenum and an exhaust air plenum on each side of the hood, a source of air under pressure being connected to a supply air transition duct connected by an air supply transition duct coupled to an opening in the air supply plenum, the supply air plenum being provided with perforated balancing plates which perform the function of modulating the incoming air to flow in a particular manner, and further being provided with perforated deflector pairs of overlapped plates positioned below the balancing plates, to additionally modulate the air flow paths, so that straight paths of air flow move into the interior of the hood above the cooking appliances and then pass through filters which remove grease particles as the exhaust air moves through the filters into the exhaust air plenum.

Abstract: An aqueous cleaning composition useful for cleaning hard surfaces such as glass, and a method for utilizing same, wherein relatively no residue is formed by the composition upon application to the surface. The composition comprises an aqueous mixture of an alcohol, a glycol ether, and a surfactant, wherein the surfactant is a fluorosurfactant present in an amount equal to or less than 40 parts per million, preferably 30 parts per million, based on the total composition.

Abstract: A method and cleaning composition are the subject of the invention. The cleaning composition may take the form of an aqueous solution, a powder, or a concentrated powder or aqueous solution for addition to a cleaning solution. The additive includes an amine or polyacrylamide flocculant and a betaine stabilizer. When used in a detergent solution, the flocculant causes contaminates introduced into the water to precipitate and quickly settle to the bottom of the cleaning bucket. This keeps the upper part of the detergent solution clean and prevents the mop from picking up and subsequently redepositing the contaminates each time it is dipped in the bucket.

Abstract: A mop bucket insert for maintaining a portion of a cleaning liquid contained in a bucket free of suspended solids. A platform spaced above the bottom of the bucket and side walls coupled with the platform substantially segregated solids which have settled in the compartment formed between the bucket bottom and platform, preventing suspension of these solids when a mop agitates the liquid. The platform provides a surface against which a cleaning instrument may be applied to remove solids entrained in the fibrous elements of the mop.
