Abstract: A holder for a gift card of the type for recording a monetary amount for a gift to enable a purchase by the recipient, includes electronics enabling a voice message to be recorded by the purchaser of the gift card. The voice message can then be played back by the recipient upon first removal of the card from the holder or by actuating a switch to eject the card from the holder. Upon return of the card to the holder, a speech synthesizer may be provided to state the amount remaining on the card when it is inserted into the holder.

Abstract: A pet bowl having an interior dished portion for receiving pet food, water or the like has a rather large suction cup held centrally to the underside of the pet bowl for securing the bowl to a surface such as a floor. The pet bowl includes a sidewall extending from an upper portion to a lower portion and enclosing an open area adjacent the upper portion, with the interior dished portion sloping inwardly from the upper portion of said sidewall. A bottom wall extends beneath the dished portion and the suction cup is held beneath a central portion of the bottom wall to secure the pet bowl to a support surface to hold the pet bowl in place as a pet consumes material within the dished portion. The central portion of the bottom wall is domed shape to conform generally to the contours of the suction cup.

The suction cup is secured within a recess of the base by a washer held within the recess, and has upstanding portions engaging the underside of the base to enable the suction cup to be depressed by movement of the holder downwardly. In preferred form, the base and upstanding receiver member are made from wood, and the base has an opening for receiving a tab connected to the suction cup for releasing the suction cup from the table or desk.
