Abstract: An improved speargun breach mechanism to prevent binding and increase the guns accuracy. The breach mechanism includes a pivotally mounted trigger and latch. The latch pivots between a cocked position and a firing position upon operation of the trigger. A spear cradle is mounted to the latch and has a generally semi-circular cross-section which closely receives the spear shaft to resist twisting movement of the latch and improve accuracy.
