Abstract: A handheld implantation device for implantation of a retinal tissue implant at an implantation site. The handheld implantation device includes a handheld implantation tool having a leading implantation tool end and a trailing implantation tool end, an implant holder for peripherally holding a retinal tissue implant including an uppermost viable retinal tissue and a lowermost basement membrane and a clinician-operated attachment arrangement for initial attaching the implant holder at the leading implantation tool end and subsequent selected detaching the implant holder therefrom at the implantation site for implantation of the implant holder together with the retinal tissue implant thereat.

Abstract: A tissue holding assembly for endothelial implantation comprising an open frame having legs for engaging a stem, such that said frame is insertable between a stroma and a Descemet's membrane, said frame being coated with a biological adhesive for adhering to a perimeter of a section of the Descemet's membrane to adhere the section of the Descemet's membrane to the frame for surgical separation of said section by cutting therearound, wherein said frame further comprises a heating element around its inner perimeter.
Abstract: A tool for endothelial implantation comprising a base frame on a stem and a covering frame such that the base frame is insertable between a stroma and a Descemet's membrane and the covering frame is positionable over the base frame to lockingly engage the base frame trapping a section of Descemet's membrane between the base frame and the cover frame for surgical separation of the section by cutting therearound.
