  • Patent number: 4458588
Abstract: A dumping transport vehicle for harvested cotton bolls has the capacity to receive in its basket body two dumps from a large self-propelled harvester. An internal power-operated pivoted packer-divider panel of the vehicle enables compacting of the first dump received from the harvester against the dump-out side of the vehicle basket so that the second dump from the harvester can be adequately received in the vehicle basket. The packer-divider panel also enables a two-stage dumping of the contents of the fully loaded vehicle basket into a module builder which is unable to handle and pack the entire volume of harvested cotton in the vehicle basket in a single delivery or dump.

  • Patent number: 4148527
Abstract: A dumping transport vehicle is provided for transporting picked or stripped cotton from a harvester back to the module. A large capacity dump box or basket features strategically located wire mesh panels to allow air to escape when the cotton is delivered into the dump basket so that the cotton will not boil out over the top of the dump basket and will properly settle therein. Additionally, the vehicle features improved geometry for the basket dumping cylinders in relation to the dumping pivot for the basket and the supporting wheeled frame so that the loaded device will be stable and will remain adequately stable when the cotton is dumped into the top of the module.

  • Patent number: 3955627
Abstract: Row marker assemblies are pivotally mounted near the ends of a tool bar adapted to carry various types of implements. A pair of marker control arms near the center of the tool bar are connected with the two marker assemblies for controlling the raising and lowering of the latter. A single hydraulic cylinder interconnects the control arms and regulates their movements in cooperation with gravity-responsive pivoted latch bars on the control arms. The latch bars are alternately engaged with a stationary keeper attached to the tool bar and are alternately separated therefrom by a camming and lifting action of each latch bar in response to retraction of the single cylinder, the lifting of each latch bar serving to release the opposing latch bar from the keeper, and the first latch bar then moving by gravity into positive locking engagement with the keeper. Rotational elements, springs and other external controls on the two cooperating latch bars are eliminated.
