Abstract: In one general embodiment, an ultrasound probe includes a housing configured for grasping by a human hand; an array of transducers for transducing sound waves into electrical signals; a circuit board in the housing, the circuit board having a plurality of leads, each of the transducers being coupled to at least an associated one of the leads; processing circuitry in the housing and coupled to the circuit board for processing the electrical signals, or derivatives of the electrical signals, into sonogram data; and an output device for outputting the sonogram data.
