Abstract: A portable speaker, such as a subwoofer, that is configured to pair via Bluetooth from any device capable of streaming Bluetooth audio and act as the “sink.” The portable speaker is also configured to pair via Bluetooth to other audio equipment capable of streaming Bluetooth audio and act as the “source.” The portable speaker is also preferably configured to synchronize the audio signal going to the portable speaker and the other unit playing music, such that the user will not hear delays between the two units playing the audio stream. Preferably, the portable speaker is configured to be portable in which the size and weight is small enough for a person to carry, and is portable in which it operates with rechargeable batteries inside the unit, thus not needing any other power source such as AC outlet, or automobile power system. Another embodiment omits the speaker and instead provides a line out for connection to an external speaker, such as a subwoofer.

Abstract: An integrated voice coil and cone assembly includes a cone assembly having a top diaphragm skin and a bottom diaphragm skin with a space between the top diaphragm skin and bottom diaphragm skin. The integrated voice coil and cone assembly also includes a voice coil configured to engage the cone assembly along a perimeter edge thereof and an adhesive material placed between the top diaphragm skin and bottom diaphragm skin such that the adhesive material fills all of the space between the top and bottom diaphragm skins. The adhesive material also bonds the top diaphragm skin, bottom diaphragm skin, and voice coil into a single, integrated unit.

Abstract: A low-profile speaker that includes a low-profile frame, and a first magnet assembly disposed in the low-profile frame. The first magnet assembly has a first cage and a plurality of magnets disposed in the first cage. The low-profile speaker also includes a support assembly having a cone and a support ring attached to the cone, and a voice coil attached to the support ring. The support ring and voice coil are suspended in relatively close proximity to the magnet assembly such that the support ring and voice coil oscillate in response to electrical signals in the voice coil.
