A splice plate assembly connects the first and second cable tray sections. The splice plate assembly includes a first splice plate configured to be retained in the groove extending along the upper flange of the first cable tray section. A second splice plate is configured to be retained in the groove extending along the upper flange of the second cable tray section. The first and second splice plates each define a fastener opening. The fastener openings are alignable with one another and configured to receive a fastener to connect the first and second cable tray sections when the splice plates are attached to the respective cable tray sections.

The valve assembly includes a main housing that surrounds the first valve apparatus and the pressure relief assembly. The main housing defines an aperture in which the cap of the pressure relief assembly is at least partially disposed in the aperture.

Each boost pump can be independently replaced using a toolbox. Each boost pump is purged of fuel before being replaced by introducing a gas at a center region of the boost pump. The toolbox and new boost pump are purged prior to removal of the old boost pump. Each boost pump can be formed from modular components.

The latch receiving openings obstruct the latching elements from unintentionally becoming de-installed during the Underwriters Lab (UL) 20 pull test.

    Abstract: A hydraulic multi-pole actuation system opens all poles of a circuit interrupter simultaneously. The system utilizes Thomson coil arrangements with a wide piston attached to the conductive member of each arrangement. A narrow piston is attached to the movable conductor of each pole assembly in the circuit interrupter. The wide and narrow pistons are contained within a hydraulic tank. Activating the Thomson coils causes the wide pistons to displace the hydraulic fluid, and the displaced fluid pushes against the narrow pistons to cause the movable conductors to open the line connections in their respective pole assemblies. The wide pistons have a greater collective surface area that interfaces with the hydraulic fluid than the narrow pistons do, enabling fewer Thomson coils arrangements to be used than there are poles in the circuit interrupter, and enabling movement of the wide pistons to be amplified during translation into movement of the narrow pistons.

The smoothed demand can reduce peak loads as well as the ramp rate of demand that will otherwise require the use of inefficient, expensive generation sources. These improvements are tied to the selective switching on or off electrical loads that are coupled to thermal reserves, effectively using the thermal reserves as an energy storage mechanism. Historical data of past usage can be used to create load model and ensure that effects on customer comfort are minimized while still accomplishing the beneficial effects for the overall grid, which enables grid owners to both reduce their operational cost by avoiding expensive generation and improve system reliability by achieving more predictable power demand.
