Abstract: Colored three-dimensional digital model generation techniques and systems are described. In one example, scanning techniques are employed by a scanning system that scans a physical object while disposed within packaging to form a three-dimension digital model. A model coloring system is employed to color the three-dimensional digital model. A two-dimensional digital image is employed that captures the same or similar physical object. In one example, features of the model are matched to the image. This is then used to align a viewing perspective with respect to the model with a viewing perspective of the object within the digital image, e.g., to find which “view” of the model corresponds with the image. The color is then applied from the digital image to the model, e.g., from pixels of the image to corresponding points in the model.

Abstract: Systems and methods for collaborative data based device maintenance are provided. In example embodiments, an indication of a malfunction of a user product of a user is received. An item listing is identified based, in part, on user data of another user. An order parameter for an order corresponding to the item listing is determined based on user data of the user and the other user.

Abstract: Example embodiments provide a prediction-based caching system. The caching system receives an application program interface (API) request from a component of the client device. The request indicates a parameter for current requested information. The caching system causes a search of both a cache and a source for the current requested information based on the parameter. The caching system causes retrieval of the current requested information from one of the cache or the source. The caching system then transmits the current requested information to the component of the client device. The caching system also predicts a future request for information (or receives a predicted request for future information). The caching system retrieves predicted results based on the predicted request from the source, and stores the predicted results in a cache for faster retrieval.

Abstract: Image-based features may be significantly correlated with click-through rates of images that depict a product, which may provide a more formal basis for the informal notion that good quality images will result in better click-through rates, as compared to poor quality images. Accordingly, an image assessment machine is configured to analyze image-based features to improve click-through rates for shopping search applications (e.g., a product search engine). Moreover, the image assessment machine may rank search results based on image quality factors and may notify sellers about low quality images. This may have the effect of improving the brand value for an online shopping website and accordingly have a positive long-term impact on the online shopping website.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure include a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program and a computer-implemented method for providing an interactive graphical user interface (GUI) on an interactive mirror display responsive to user interest. Consistent with some embodiments, the method may include identifying an item of interest to an individual in a retail store and accessing detailed product information for the item from a product database. The method may further include generating the interactive GUI using the detailed product information and causing the interactive GUI to be presented to the individual on the interactive mirror display.

Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting an electronic intrusion are described. The system receives an indication of a user activity for a user account for a service provided by a server. The system identifies whether to communicate a first request to respond to the user activity and communicates the first request, over a network. The system receives a first response responsive to communicating the first request, the first response including instructions to permit access to the user account at the server and permits access to the server based on the first response.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method to provide services associated with an image is disclosed. The method includes receiving image data of an item of interest from a client device. The image data is used to identify a similar item from an image catalog based on the image data of the item. Attribute information associated with the similar item is retrieved and used to pre-populate a template. The pre-populated template is sent to the client device, and modified data from the client device is received in response, with the modified data resulting in a final template. A listing based on the final template is generated.

Abstract: An apparatus and method to facilitate providing recommendations are disclosed herein. A networked system receives a query image, and performs image processing to extract a color histogram of an item depicted in the query image. The networked system identifies a dominant color of the item, whereby the dominant color is a color that is present on a most spatial area of the item relative to any other color of the item. The color histogram of the item is compared with a color histogram of an image of each of a plurality of available items, or the dominate color of the item is compared with a dominate color of the image of each of a plurality of available items. Based on the comparing, the networked system identifies item recommendations of the available items that closely match the item depicted in the query image, and the item recommendations are presented.

Abstract: In various exemplary embodiments, a system and associated method to perform an adaptive risk-based assessment of a user is disclosed. A method includes receiving a request from a user to perform an action at an electronic marketplace, retrieving a plurality of risk assessment factors associated with the action and the user, performing a risk assessment process on the risk assessment factors to identify a risk mitigation process, requesting that the user perform the identified risk mitigation process, and allowing the user to perform the action in response to the user completing the risk mitigation.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to apparatuses, systems, and methods for enhancing search results based on recent user interactions. As described herein, embodiments may infer various refinements for search queries; these refinements are based, at least in part, on the user's recent interactions with the search platform (e.g., within a current session). In other words, as the user is interacting with the search platform, one or more refinements may be inferred to help make the search results more relevant to the user.

Abstract: A system and method for using super geo-fences to improve efficiency of geo-fences is disclosed. A server system determines a geo-fence density based on a number of geo-fences in an area around a client system. In response to determining the geo-fence density is greater than a predetermined density value, the server system selects a number of geo-fences that is greater than a fixed number of geo-fences that the client system is capable of handling. The server system groups the selected geo-fences into a first and second group of geo-fences and generates a super geo-fence that encompasses the first group. The server system transmits the first and second group of geo-fences and the super geo-fence to an application stored at the client device. The application adds geo-fence data corresponding to the second group to the client system in response to detecting the client system crossing a boundary of the super geo-fence.

Abstract: A system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program and a computer-implemented method for providing recommendations are presented. Consistent with some embodiments, the method may include accessing a selection of queries executed on a database of items. The selection of queries may be used to retrieve a plurality of items from the database. The plurality of items may be grouped into one of multiple clusters based on similarities between items. The method may further include receiving a recommendation request related to an item corresponding to a first cluster of the multiple clusters. A recommendation may be generated using a related item selected from the first cluster.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of information presentation on multiple devices is provided. The method may include presenting a first barcode on a webpage. The first barcode may be encoded with first data based on a uniform resource locator of the webpage. The method may also include generating second data based on a user interaction with the webpage and altering a configuration of the webpage based on the user interaction without leaving the webpage. The method may also include generating a second barcode encoded with the first data and the second data. The method may further include presenting the second barcode on the webpage with the altered configuration.

Abstract: Physical object boundary detection techniques and systems are described. In one example, an augmented reality module generates three dimensional point cloud data. This data describes depths at respective points within a physical environment that includes the physical object. A physical object boundary detection module is then employed to filter the point cloud data by removing points that correspond to a ground plane. The module then performs a nearest neighbor search to locate a subset of the points within the filtered point cloud data that correspond to the physical object. Based on this subset, the module projects the subset of points onto the ground plane to generate a two-dimensional boundary. The two-dimensional boundary is then extruded based on a height determined from a point having a maximum distance from the ground plane from the filtered cloud point data.

Abstract: A method and a system for providing information about a posting from multiple sources are provided. For example, the method may comprise storing a posting that was submitted by a first user in an online publication system. Then, one or more stored inquiries associated with the posting may be retrieved. Finally, a response is selectively retrieved from a response source. The retrieved response may correspond to the stored inquiry and the posting. The response source is at least one of the posting, the online publication system, the first user, and a user account of a second user.

Abstract: A method to authenticate an application on a first computer system at a second computer system is disclosed. The first computer system receives an authentication bitmap from a second computer system identifying locations in an application. The first computer system extracts portions of the application based on the identified locations in the bitmap. A hashing algorithm is applied by the first computer system to the extracted portions producing a resultant hash. The resultant hash is transmitted to the second computer system for authentication of the application.
