  • Patent number: 5484526
Abstract: A membrane plate for a filter press includes a plate member composed of a plate wall having a peripheral region provided with a plate wall groove and a plate frame surrounding the plate wall. A flexible press membrane is disposed adjacent at least one side of the plate wall and a holding frame covers a membrane edge bead received in the plate wall groove. A connecting arrangement secures the holding frame to the plate frame and permits transverse movement of the holding frame with respect to the plate wall. The connecting arrangement includes a continuous peripheral groove in the plate frame and a continuous, elastic member supported on the holding frame. The elastic member projects from the holding frame and is received by the continuous peripheral groove.

  • Patent number: 5445733
Abstract: A plate filter press includes a plurality of face-to-face arranged filter plates movable into open and closed positions. Any two adjoining filter plates together define a filter chamber bounded by a continuous, raised sealing edge carried on at least one of the two adjoining filter plates. Separate heavy liquid intake members constituted by tubular bars are in fluid communication with each filter chamber. The sealing edges are provided with a respective recess extending in a longitudinal direction of the sealing edges. The tubular bars extend in the longitudinal direction and are sealingly received in the respective recesses in the closed position. Each tubular bar has a liquid outlet opening, and each sealing edge is provided with a transverse liquid passage situated between the recess and the filter chamber.

  • Patent number: 4741826
Abstract: A filter cloth securing device attaches a filter cloth in the zone of the slurry port of a filter plate. A plurality of face-to-face arranged filter plates constitute a filter plate stack of a plate filter press. Each filter cloth securing device has two flanged sleeves inserted from either side of the slurry port and a threaded tightening sleeve which passes through the slurry port and which tightens the flanged sleeves to one another to thus clamp the filter cloth against the filter plate face. In the closed state of the filter plate stack face-to-face oriented flanged sleeves belonging to consecutive filter plates define an annular clearance and further, at least one flanged sleeve of the filter cloth securing device has on its outer face at least one protuberance which projects towards the outer flange face of an adjoining flanged sleeve, belonging to a consecutive filter plate. The protuberance ends at a distance from the last-named outer flange face.

  • Patent number: 4552660
Abstract: A plate filter comprises a plurality of shiftable filter plates and first and second deflecting rolls carried on opposite sides of each filter plate. The axes of consecutive first deflecting rolls lie alternatingly in a first plane and in a second plane spaced from one another. A filter cloth is guided in a zigzag course between consecutive filter plates by the first and second deflecting rolls. A first sprocket is affixed to each first deflecting roll and a second sprocket is mounted on each first deflecting roll for free idling rotation. First and second spaced, elongated, oppositely driven chains are respectively trained in a zigzag course in an alternating sequence about first and second sprockets of first deflecting rolls belonging to consecutive filter plates. The first and second chains are in meshing relationship with the first and second sprockets about which the chains are consecutively trained.
