Abstract: Various embodiments of apparatus and/or methods are described for presenting text data (e.g., closed captioning data) during trick play mode presentation of a video stream. An analyzed file of the text data is provided on a digital video recorder (DVR), and during trick play mode, text data corresponding to video frames of a video stream is retrieved from the analyzed file and outputted for presentation by the presentation device.
Abstract: An approach to providing EPG information segments the EPG information into a plurality of segmented EPGs, i.e., subsets of the EPG information. The EPG information for all channels may be segmented into EPGs for separate local channels, i.e., channels received by client devices within a particular geographical region or broadcast area, and a “home” or universal EPG. Alternatively or additionally, the EPG information for all channels may be segmented into EPGs, for example, based on channel content or category.
Abstract: A method for employing a controlled-modification current time value is presented. In the method, the current time value is maintained. Also, requests for modification of the current time value are received. The requests are processed so that the requested modification associated with one of the requests is immediately incorporated into the current time value, and so that the requested modification associated with another one of the requests is not immediately incorporated into the current time value.
Abstract: A broadcast communication system is presented which includes a broadcast communication transmitter, a broadcast communication receiver, and an information processor. The broadcast communication receiver is configured to receive programming from the broadcast communication transmitter. The receiver is also configured to generate information relating to the operation of the broadcast communicate receiver. In addition, the receiver is configured to connect to the information processor and transfer the information thereto during a time period in accordance with user input accepted by the receiver. The information processor is configured to receive and process the information.
Abstract: Systems and methods may provide for control of one or more feeds of a multi-feed channel. Such control may implement functions such as pausing, playing, rewinding, fast forwarding, slowing, replaying and zooming. The control may be selectively applied to the feeds so that one, selected ones or all of the feeds are controlled. Thus, implementations may allow a user to selectively interact with video feeds, as well as corresponding audio feeds, while viewing the multi-feed channel.
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus to mount a satellite dish to a pole. This apparatus allows the mounting of a satellite dish without attaching the dish to the user's home or business.
Abstract: Various embodiments described herein relate to apparatus for executing software in a secure computing environment. A secure processor can be used and configured to request a context swap from a first context to a second context when switching execution from a first portion of software to a second portion of software. A context manager, which can be in communication with the secure processor, can be configured to receive and initiate a requested context swap. A trust vector verifier, which can be in communication with the secure processor and the context manager, can be configured to load a trust vector descriptor upon command from a context manager.
