Patent number: 9571888Abstract: The document discloses a method for communicating information, such as audiovisual data and other information to a user. The method includes receiving a broadcast signal on a content receiver. The broadcast signal includes a video signal and a graphical signal, and the graphical signal includes a matrix barcode. After the content receiver receives the broadcast signal, the content receiver determines whether the matrix barcode should be displayed. The determination that the matrix barcode should be displayed may be based on the geographic location of the content receiver or user settings/preferences stored on the content receiver. If the matrix barcode should be displayed, the content receiver creates and outputs a modified signal. The modified signal includes the video signal with the matrix barcode overlaid on top of the video signal. If the matrix barcode should not be displayed, the content receiver outputs the broadcast signal.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2011Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: EchoStar Technologies L.L.C.Inventors: Steven M. Patent number: 9543634Abstract: Various embodiments provide a telescoping strut with a fixed rail feature. The telescoping strut includes an outer tube having slits and holes, an inner tube having rail slots and an insert guide, a threaded insert, and bolts. The threaded insert is positioned in the insert guide of the inner tube, which is inserted in the outer tube. The threaded insert, positioned in the insert guide, is aligned with the holes of the outer tube and the rail slots of the inner tube. The bolts are inserted in to the holes and the rail slots, and are threadably attached to the threaded insert. The insert guide and the rail slots allow the threaded insert and the bolts to slide freely with respect to the inner tube. As a result, the inner tube slides freely within the outer tube until the threaded insert and the bolts are tightened. When a desired length of the telescoping strut is obtained, the bolts and the threaded insert are tightened causing the slits of the outer tube to deform around the inner tube.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2015Date of Patent: January 10, 2017Assignee: EchoStar Technologies L.L.C.Inventors: Matthew Bailey, William Roberts
