  • Patent number: 11779857
Abstract: Provided herein are integrated distillation apparatuses configured as stand-alone fully integrated systems having a reduced footprint. Integrated distillation apparatuses can have a rotary evaporator, a condenser, and an integrated refrigeration system or chiller, as well as an integrated water bath and vacuum pump, all of which can be integrated into a central frame and/or housing assembly. Integrated distillation apparatuses can be configured such that the rotary evaporator is movably attached to a frame structure and configured to be vertically translatable in position, whereas the condenser can be affixed to the structure by an arm extending from the structure and adjacent to the rotary evaporator, and wherein the refrigeration system can be in fluid communication with the condenser.

  • Patent number: 11623163
Abstract: Falling film evaporator systems, devices, and methods are disclosed in the present application. In some embodiments, the falling film evaporator system can include a hollow cylindrical glass tube configured to enclose the major parts of the falling film evaporator system. Furthermore, in some embodiments, inserted into the cylindrical glass tube is another hollow evaporator tube with a dispensing bowl at the top, a reservoir of the dispending bowl facing the inside top of the cylindrical glass tube. Inserted into the hollow evaporator tube is a heating element configured to heat the hollow evaporator tube such that an outside surface of the evaporator tube is heated. At the top of the hollow cylindrical glass is an inlet where liquid flows into the dispensing bowl, spilling over the edges of the bowl, generating a thin film of liquid that is evaporated as it falls down the outside surface of the evaporator tube.

  • Patent number: 11400388
Abstract: Integrated rotary evaporator apparatuses are provided. Such rotary evaporators include a vertically oriented evaporator for evaporating a sample to form a sample evaporate, a mixing apparatus for mixing the sample in the evaporator, a condenser for condensing the evaporated sample into a condensate, a collection vessel for collecting the condensate, a vacuum pump to create a vacuum in the evaporator, and a refrigeration system integrated into the condenser, where all components are integrated into a single apparatus. Standalone large-scale chillers for cooling a liquid, vapor or other medium are also provided. Such chillers include a heat exchanger or evaporator, a condenser, a compressor, and a temperature controller, all integrated into a single standalone chiller usable with any vessel or reservoir containing liquids, vapors or other medium from which heat is to be removed. Methods of using such devices to distill, evaporate and/or cool a sample or medium are provided.

  • Patent number: 9005403
Abstract: A rotary evaporator comprising a motor, a rotary joint movably inserted to a motor rotor of the motor by a sleeve in an axial direction, a collection flask attached to the rotary joint at one end of the joint, with a condenser attached to the other end of the joint. The condenser is adapted to receive a cooling coil from an immersion cooler. The cooling coil is attached to the base unit of the immersion cooler via an insulated hose. The rotary evaporator is adapted to provide various ways to remove heat from the flask in the water bath, whether by mechanically lowering the water bath, dropping fluid from the bath into an underlying reservoir, or raising and lowering the rotary evaporator out of the bath. Where the rotary evaporator is raised and lowered, the immersion cooler can remain in place if the hose connecting the base unit to the cooling coil is sufficiently long, or the condenser includes a flexible portion that accommodates the upward and downward movement.
