For separating the entrained gas, particularly air, or partial removal thereof, from a liquid flow, the apparatus includes a liquid-flow guide adapted substantially close to the lower end of an inlet pipe discharging the gas-containing liquid into a container.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for washing a fabric from a paper machine or equivalent, in which a washing fluid is applied to the fabric. In the procedure, the quantity of washing fluid is removed from the fabric and measured by a measuring device, whereby the measurement of the quantity of washing fluid communicates with a control unit that regulates a washing chemical. The regulation of the dosage of washing chemical is controlled on the basis of date adjusted or programmed on the basis of the liquid washing fluid collected.

Abstract: Apparatus for measuring the rate of flow of liquid through a liquid/air separator having a chamber space provided with at least one liquid/gas inlet duct, at least one gas outlet duct and at least one liquid outlet duct, includes a measuring receptacle disposed in the chamber into which liquid is received from the inlet duct. The measuring receptacle has an inflow compartment located below the inlet duct and receives the liquid from the inlet duct and a measuring compartment partially separated from the inflow compartment by a partition arranged so that liquid is accumulated and slowed in the inflow compartment. The measuring compartment has an outlet above a surface level of liquid in the chamber space. A suitable measuring device measures the quantity of liquid in the measuring compartment.

Abstract: Procedure for the drainage of the wire and/or press section of a paper machine, in which procedure at least one suction pipe (1) is provided with at least one gap (2) and the suction pipe (1) is connected to a vacuum device (4) to develop a vacuum at least in this vacuum pipe, and in which procedure a felt, wire or equivalent (3) is moved over the gap of the suction pipe, water being thus drained from the felt, wire or equivalent. In the procedure, the vacuum capacity is adjusted by measuring and/or adjusting at least the amount of water drained from the suction pipe (1) and, on the basis of the measured data, adjusting the vacuum capacity by means of regulating devices (11, 12). The invention also relates to an apparatus for adjusting the vacuum capacity.

Abstract: An apparatus for the measurement of liquid quantity, comprising a frame (12) with a chamber space (13) inside it, an inlet duct (8) in the top part of the frame to pass a liquid into the chamber space (13), an outlet duct (11) in the bottom part of the frame to pass the liquid out of the chamber space (13) and elements (1, 2) placed in the chamber space (13) to form a weir container, said elements comprising a wall (2) and at least one orifice (1) formed in the wall, through which orifice (1) the liquid is passed out into the outlet duct (11), and means (3) for measuring the level of the liquid in the chamber space (13). The apparatus comprises means (10) for directing the liquid entering the chamber via the inlet duct (8) into at least two sub-flows (14, 15) and for directing these sub-flows from different directions to a point near the orifice (1) in the wall so that when the sub-flows (14, 15) meet again, they substantially damp the flow.
