  • Patent number: 5076265
Abstract: A hydrogel sheet for use as a wound dressing with capillaries permitting wound exudate to pass through the sheet while not permitting bacteria to infect the wound is disclosed. The total cross-sectional area of the capillaries represents 0.5 to 3.0 percent of the area of the sheet. The sheets do not stick to the wound surface and allow large quantities of wound exudate to be removed from the wound.
