  • Patent number: 8157864
Abstract: A vertebral replacement device (1) includes a female part (2), a male part (3) that is mounted inside the female part (2) and can be axially displaced relative to the female part (2), first and second locking elements (14, 15) mounted so as to be movable in translation on the female part (2) in order to occupy a first position in which they cooperate with respective opposing parts (31) of a peripheral surface (6) of the male part (3) to axially lock the female and male parts (2, 3) relative to one another, and a second position in which the female and male (2, 3) parts can be freely displaced axially relative to one another, and a rotating control element (20) extending radially through the male part (3) this control element (20) cooperating with the locking elements (14, 15) so that, when a rotational movement is communicated to it, it transforms this rotational movement into a translational movement of each of the locking elements (14, 15) so as to bring the locking elements (14, 15) into either of the firs

  • Patent number: 7828823
Abstract: A device for connecting bony portions, such as a dynamic intervertebral connection device, includes a female member (2) having a cavity (5) and intended to be connected to a first bony portion, a male member (1) articulated in the cavity (5) and intended to be connected to a second bony portion, the male member (1) having a lateral articulation surface (13) coacting with a lateral surface (6a) of the cavity (5) to guide movements of inclination of the male member (1) relative to the female member (2), and resilient elements (8) arranged to exert an action countering the inclination movements. The resilient elements (8) are disposed in a recess (10) of the male member (1) delimited laterally by a surface (12) that is opposite the articulation surface (13).

  • Patent number: 7537615
Abstract: The intervertebral disk prosthesis comprises first and second parts (2, 3) intended to be attached respectively to two adjacent vertebrae, an intermediate part (4) inserted between the first and second parts (2, 3) and comprising articular surfaces (9, 10) that cooperate with respective articular surfaces (6, 8) of the first and second parts (2, 3), and means (11, 12) for coupling the first part (2) and the intermediate part (4). The coupling means (11, 12) are arranged to leave the intermediate part (4) free relative to the first part (2) during a first phase of a tilting movement of the first part (2) relative to the second part (3), but to displace the intermediate part (4) toward an end (E2) of the prosthesis that is opposite to an end (E1) toward which the first part (2) is displaced by tilting relative to the second part (3), during a second phase of the tilting movement of the first part (2).
